A good general rule for all dog owners to follow is to have any eye or adjacent tissue dysfunction evaluated by a veterinarian without delay

There are certain types of artificial tear drops that are safe to use on dogs - but there are dog specific tear drops as well. Obviously, we always want to be careful when using eye drops - and check in with a Vet to double check the treatment plan. Essentially, we need to know why you're using the drops before recommending if you can.

I would not use eye drops if there is an issue. However, if you mean to clean the area, then there are canine eye drops formulated for dogs sold over the counter.
