My dog is constantly scratching

My two dogs just stayed at one of the sitters. I picked them up yesterday and gave them a bath. I know there were two other dogs and noticed that both of them are constantly scratching their bodies. I checked their skin and there are bug bites and red marks from scratching. (but there are no bugs, just the bites.. my dog is white and shaved so it is easy to inspect) If i take my dogs to a Vet, would the sitter pay for the visit? How would it work? I am a student so the stay itself was expensive enough :/ If not, what would help them to sooth the skin?

Thank you!

I would take your dog to the vet before it becomes worse. If you treat it now while it's small, it'll be less expensive and easier. As far as payment - you should directly ask the pet sitter about the environment your dog was in, the other dogs, etc.

It may also just be the time of year. Allergy season is starting, and in much of the country it's supposed to be a pretty bad one. Your dogs may have some hives from something in the sitter's house or yard. Grass allergies are fairly common with dogs, like people. I'd contact Rover, and definitely have them checked by a vet to make sure it's resolved, but unless the owner did something negligent (like knowingly accept dogs with a contagious condition or exposing them to something you requested they not be exposed to) it will likely be your financial responsibility. However, there's a chance that Rover's insurance will cover the visit if their condition started during their stay (beyond the $250 deductible).
