What is a good rate for additional dogs from the same family?

I currently have my rates set to 30$/night and 22$/night for additional dogs from the same household. Is this too much? or too little? Obviously I don't want it too low because that takes up a dog slot and I could make more if I had two dogs from separate households. Just curious as to what other sitter's rates are for additional dogs!

I give $5 off for the second dog. It really depends on your personal situation and what you are looking for. If you want to build a better client based, maybe start with $22 and go up to $25 in few months.

$5 off should be sufficient. That is nearly 17% off. My rate table doesn't show any discounts, although I might grant one if asked. However, I wouldn't discount at all during a peak holiday period because spaces are, as you said, limited and you could fill it with a full-paying pup.

I discount $10 off my normal fee for each additional dog from the same family. I only take one family at a time, and I figure they get along well together so it's not much more trouble for me. I do raise all my rates for holiday periods, but keep the same $10 off for additional dogs.

I recently changed my prices and now I charge $45 a night for the first dog, $5 each for any additional dogs, and then $5 for 1-2 cats. It's on the high side, but people are still booking me left and right, so I figure that's good!

I actually don't have a discount for a second dog from the same family listed on my profile. I have had a few owners ask if I discount, and if they ask I determine what my base is. (I am $35/night, so the LOWEST I will take is $55 for both). I also work 9-5, so many of my owners also need to pay someone to do the midday walk, which is why I am flexible if they ask.
