I found a website that actually has a weight chart starting from birth and progresses with age. If you know how old your Yorkie is currently and how much he or she weighs, you can take a look at this chart to get a pretty good estimate at what your Yorkie will weigh when it's an adult.

My Yorkie isn't on the chart. He is 4 months old and weighs 10 pounds already. I was told all his siblings were tiny. Then I got him at 8 weeks he weighed 4.5 pounds. How does this happen and what is he on target to weigh?

This depends on your yorkie's parents. I've encountered full-grown yorkies that are healthy at 4 pounds and also ones close to 20. If you can track down your pet's breeding parents, it will generally weigh somewhere between the two weights. If your yorkie puppy is a rescue, your guess is as good as any!

According to the breeder and the pictures she sent me of the parents and his siblings, both the parents were tiny/small and his siblings were tiny weighing a pound less than my guy at 6 weeks. My puppy weighed 2.4 pounds so I guess his siblings weighed 1.4. I never got to see any of them in person.

I have one Yorkie at 7lbs and the other is a Yorkie mix at 11lbs. Yorkies normally don't get bigger than 15lbs unless they're overweight.

Thanks for responding. My late Yorkie weighed 10 pounds most of his adult life and he was perfect. My vet has never mentioned that my puppy is overweight, just big for a Yorkie. I'm convinced he's a mix but I don't know how to determine what he's mixed with. His breeder knew I was looking for 7-11lb

According to google: "Show dogs should weigh between four to seven pounds, but pet Yorkies can weigh as much as 12 to 15 pounds. A Yorkie who weighs less than four pounds is more prone to health problems, and more likely to suffer complications while under anesthesia."

Additionally the average male is 6.5 inches tall (Adult). Hope that helps.

He weighed 9.5 pounds 3 weeks ago, at 4 months old. When will be reach full grown size? It seems like my late Yorkie reached his full grown size at about 8 months. I got him at 7 months so I have no idea what his growth was before I got him. One vet estimates he'll weigh 20 lbs and another 15 lbs.
