Why does my dog bark at other dogs?

The more your dog is able to bark and lunge, the more likely that he'll do it next time. After all, it does keep other dogs away. A dog that walks directly toward another dog is considered rude, or even a threat, in the doggy world.

Because they're excited and that's the only way they can say hi!

Some dogs are nervous around other dogs, so they will bark to kinda say "stay away, I'm scary," and others just want to say "hi," every now and then, a dog is aggressive and barks while lunging and trying to hurt other dogs. Sometimes dogs are just so excited they can't contain themselves and are just barking out of joy!
