Why does my pom eats rocks?

He will get a big rock and chew on it till he makes it smaller. I would like to know what can l do to stop this ? l worry about his teeth and l am also afraid he might chock on one.

It's also possible that a dog eats rocks because of an underlying medical condition. These can include intestinal tract disorders, nutritional deficiency, diabetes, or other illnesses. Rule those out - and it could be something your dog did as a puppy, and was never told not to do it!

I also have a dog that eats small rocks, sticks, etc. First have your dog vet checked to rule out any medical issues. If it's not a medical issue then it may be a developed habit that requires re-training. Ask your veterinarian for advise on how to curb the habit. Good Luck.
