Could be a UTI or an anal gland issue.

It could be a couple of different things. If your dog is scooting, or licking at its rear end, it could be its anal glands, which are scent glands. If your dog eats a fish based diet, or takes fish oil daily, it could just be from that.

This sounds like an issue with anal glands being too full. Seek the help of a veterinary technician to express them safely :) (My dog starts to smell less than rosey when his are too full and he doesn't express them well enough on his own!)

9 times out of 10 your dog has just rolled in worms. One of your dogs favorite perfumes is in fact worm juice, and yes it smells just like fish.
