I'm really worried!! My dog has developed a cough that almost sounds like a goose honking! This has never happened before and I don't know what to make of this. What should I do?
Sounds like Kennel Cough. I'd make a quick call to his vet. When in doubt, call. My pup caught a horrible cold from the dog park. I found out from calling that it was going around and what to do for him at home.
If you live in a cold climate, it could just be that the air in your house is dry. However, another possibility is that your dog may have kennel cough. One thing you can try is take your dog into a steamy bathroom (run the shower in hot water) to moisten the air passages. If that doesn't do the trick, you may need to take him or her to the vet. Also, if it is kennel cough, please keep your dog away from other dogs; KC is highly contagious.
