Rover fee difference 25 vs. 15%?

Can anyone please explain exactly what we LOSE when going from 25% to 15% fee charge?

  1. Can we continue to use our professional pictures if we saved them to our computer?
  2. Can we continue to call the support line for any questions?
  3. Do we continue to get full insurance as we did with the 25% fee?
  4. Does Rover still control our ranking and how we show up in the search?
  5. Does the fee decrease start immediately, like after we request it?

I have called Rover support themselves, but several people did not explain it well and I was left with more confusion.

It sounds like you're asking about changing from RoverGo/Match/Premiere to Rover. Support has more inside knowledge to answer that, but I thought I'd share what I read and comment on the questions I can. This checklist compares the two side by side. https://www.rover.com/go/ 2. Yes, You can still contact support (everyone on Rover can) but you wouldn't get exclusive coaching 3. Yes & No, Changing to Rover, You'd still have Rover's regular insurance. But you'd give up Rover Protection Package, which includes vet assistance, but could purchase it for $50. 4. Yes, Rover controls everyone's ranking and where they show up in search. If your profile was bumped up due to this, it could negatively impact you.

Hi Angela,

Yes, I know exactly what you are talking about. You are looking at dropping down from a primer sitter to just a regular sitter. I too was in your same shoes about a year ago. I was disappointed in the support that I had received from rover that I found myself asking the same questions, what am I really paying extra for. And honestly in my opinion, nothing! Had the support been better I might consider keeping the primer but its not. What I found would change is that your profile does not have the the words "primer sitter" under your name and you do not get 24 hours access to a vet to ask questions but yes you still get the insurance (everyone gets it, and in case you did not know the deductible went up to $500), your pictures still stay the same, you still keep your badge that says they did home inspection, background check, As for your position where your profile shows up- no primer sitters did not get an advantage. I had asked this same question and on- it is done by a computer that ranks you based on certain criteria. From why I know is basically you really want to say yes to everyone that contacts you. Yes Rover says that we have the choice but in telling a client no your ranking does drop. Make sure to take pictures on everyone that asks and ask clients to write reviews, oh and respond back quickly to clients. those are the 4 things that I know for sure will effect your position. They base most results off of your last 10 clients. Once you let Rover know that you want to switch, they will switch it for you but it will only effect any new bookings from that point out. (Whatever is pending or already scheduled out will still be at the 25%, any new requests after notifying them it will be at 15%) Hope this was helpful and answers your question. Good Luck! Erica Marie
