You have the option to archive of requests. Are there ones that will count against you and others that count for you? For example it says that if the other person doesn't meet your profile that it won't count against you. Like you said you only except toy breeds and they have 100 pound dog. Something like that
I recently asked about this - choosing archive reasons & their effect. The Rover expert responded "not all the reasons you choose from why you are archiving impact you equally... If you show available on your calendar and you turn down a client, then archive as "I was not available", this may impact you negatively and effect your ranking. "
On the flip side, Rover has told me if I archive a request as unavailable and am marked unavailable for any of the dates on my calendar, my rank will not be negatively effected.
As Deb A. noted, not all archived messages are equal. The key seems to be keeping your calendar up-to-date, as well as the number of spots for each service that you have opened for each day. I've found that it's better to err on the conservative side when marking availability on your calendar, as you will often get requests or inquiries regardless of what the availability shown on your calendar is.
There were a couple options that seemed like the best bet for avoiding penalty, but I can't recall exactly which they were. I'm guessing 'duplicate message' would be one of them, as that has nothing to do with your availability, but will still archive the message.

ALL archive reasons affect you in a negative way. I know that seems crazy which is why I called Rover Support about this a number of times when I first started. It was explained to me that it is the only way they can do it in order to make sure Sitters are serious about taking requests and that Owners are not being turned down by too many Sitters/Walkers.
The ONLY time it does not affect you is if the request includes a message from Rover in a box above the request from the Owner telling you Rover knows the request does not match your availability or preferences. The way you end up seeing the negative impact is in your Performance Score, (which might not have been in effect yet when this question was asked).
How can they rate you negatively if you archive a request for the owner never responding back? I get requests then respond and try to set up a meet and greet and they never answer for a few days so I have to archive it. It isn't fair if the really does negatively impact my score
To the best of my knowledge, none of them count against you. I've used almost all of the options at one time or another and didn't see an effect on my profile rankings.
