The dog I'm boarding attacked my dog. Do they get a refund?

I'm currently boarding a dog for the holiday week. During the meet and greet, my dog and hers got along fine, just the normal anxious behavior of being in a new situation.

My dog tried to play with her this morning, and he must have gotten to close, because they started to bark and she bit onto his scruff and shook him violently. He's got a pretty significant wound. The owner said she has a family friend near by that can watch her if the situation is still hostile in the next couple of days.

If I no longer agree to watch her for the remaining period, does the owner get a refund for the remaining days?

It looks like you have the Moderate refund policy set for dog boarding in your home which states that the owner will receive a "50% refund for first 7 days of stay & 100% of additional days if cancelled. Example: For a 4-week vacation, [they] will only be charged 50% for the first 7 days and the remaining 3 weeks are refunded in full." However, if you would like to refund the full amount to the owner for the remaining days, since they are not really cancelling on you, you can contact Rover Support and they can help you handle that situation.

Well, that wouldn't be the case, haha. I don't want to refund the entire amount since my dog is injured. Thank you.

I'm sorry to read about your dog's injury. If you haven't already done so, I'd suggest contacting Rover support, so they can get all the details and add documentation to the boarding dog's file. Also, they can advise about insurance if your dog needs medical attention.

I would refund the days that the dog was not able to board with me, but only if it was my own dog who was causing the problems. Do you not have a crate or baby gate, or any other way to keep the two pets away from each other? I would go ahead and finish out the stay, but keep them apart. I have an aggressive dog right now who is just doomed to an 80% crated stay because he is such an unmanageable disaster.
