Clients can cancel a stay anytime they want, but the refund amount depends on what policy you have selected and when it is done.

I see that you have selected a Strict cancellation policy for boarding, which means

  • A full refund is available if a client cancels before the beginning of the service.

  • If canceled on or after the beginning of the the service, a 50% refund is available for the first seven days of the service, and a 100% refund is available for any additional days.

Obviously this can cause problems in, for example, a busy holiday period, when people might book you way in advance and then cancel out almost at the last minute. They'll get their money back and you may have turned down other business. When someone books me in advance for the Thanksgiving or Christmas period, I will require a nonrefundable deposit.

I'm curious as to how you charge for the nonrefundable deposit. That sounds like a great idea. Many kennels in my area do the same thing.
