How often do you send pics?

For a long term daily walking commitment I tend to send pics the first visits with a new client and then a few times a week, but not every single day as it'll quickly get redundant. I text updates or leave notes daily anyway. I had a new daily walking client explicitly ask for pictures every single day. Obviously snapping a picture is not hard, but it just seems a little strange. I thought my usual method was good, but now I'm curious about what other walkers do

I know your question is for walkers but I suspect it will get traffic from boarders as well so will answer from that angle.

When a dog is staying with me I send pics daily, usually at least two. I send them all at the same time and try to keep that time consistent so owners know when to expect them. Additionally, sending them together keeps me from "bothering" the owner multiple times (especially if s/he turns out to be someone who does not wait with bated breath for news of their pooch).

Regarding your specific situation, it sounds to me like the owner is checking up on you. Maybe after a while she'll trust you enough to no longer need the assurance of visual proof.

I agree with Carmen. I do drop-ins and walks, and yes, it can get redundant taking pics every time...but I try to make it a challenge for myself by trying to get a different style of pic every time.

I too have had long term walking clients and I send a photo (sometimes 2-3 if I get really cute shots) for each walk. Rarely something happens and I can't, such as battery drained, and I message when I get home (sometimes hours later). My clients are really understanding of those situations because I exceed their expectations most of the time. I try to get a different angle, pose, close-up/full view, or background for variety. In my message, I'll let them know anything that the dog did that was cute (i.e. met me at the door with favorite/description of toy), any matters of health regarding output or lack thereof during walk, and anything taken care of (i.e. Rover has fresh, clean full water, a package that was delivered is inside now). Although it may seem redundant, it provides the owner with a time stamp of what's going on with their dog's activity and their home, which they've trusted us with access to. It also helps because some pet parents suffer moderate to severe separation anxiety.

I send pictures daily for new clients. For repeat clients I will send about pics every other day unless it's an anxious 'parent' and then I will still do every day. As a dog mommy myself seeing pictures of my dogs when I am gone just makes me feel better about how they are doing.
