my 7 year old pit bull just in the last 3 days hasnt gone poop outside in the mornings (like hes been doing the last 7 years) . what do i do?

we just got a new puppy 2 weeks ago and i dont know if that has anything to do with it? but i need help. i tried, to take him out this morning with out the puppy, but he ran out and peed then came right back. i even walked out with him, but he wouldnt do anything. so i also asked my bf to take him out (2 hours later) when he leaves for work. he said he did the same thing. he walk outside and called for him but he wouldnt go outside at all

Is he not pooping at all, anywhere? Or is he going poop later in the day, but not in the morning like he used to? How is he acting? How is his appetite?

he is pooping, just later in the morning in the house after everyone has left for work. he was acting kind of scared, to go outback in the morning...he would go to the edge of the porch and pee and come back. and his appetite is normal.

Is the puppy potty trained or is it also going indoors?

My suggestion is to call the vet. They may advise over the phone, but chances are it's time for a visit. It's very possible there's a medical reason. http://pets.webmd.com/dogs/dog-consti...

Hi r u still having this problem I work at an animal hospital and my pup had this a few months back I was scared she ate something n it caused a bowel obstruction which is where whatever they eat gets stuck and they can't poop it out so it blocks everything else from coming out. 1st I tried giving her canned pumpkin bc it's a laxitive for dogs but only a small amount u can search Google to get the exact amount per weight of the dog. Thank God she pooped the next day and of course she had tipped the bathroom trash can n eaten a little piece of toilet paper n it got stuck but with the pumpkin it came on out. I wld recommend trying this but if u don't c anything the next day I wld definitely take to the vet for an x-ray bc it cld very well b something stuck in there. Hope this really helps they r so pitiful when they r in discomfort I'm praying for you all!! Good luck!!
