If you want to try this trick on your dog, make sure they already know how to fetch on command—and then teach them to associate a key cue word, like “leg,” with a particular object. Use treats to help them learn to make the association.

Aspen’s Story
Even the very best dogs can have a very bad moment, and accidents happen quickly. That’s why Aspen and his dad Jeff Frick took to social media to spread the word about keeping your dog on a leash around traffic, even if they’re a perfect angel 99.99% of the time.
Fortunately for Jeff and Aspen, things didn’t turn out worse, and thanks to a good Samaritan, Aspen is a healthy and happy tripod dog.
