Rexi the golden retriever will steal your heart. Rexi (short for Tyrannosaurus Rex) was born with a mysterious neurological condition that renders her front legs completely unusable. As a puppy, her legs worked normally, but as she grew, she developed a limp that worsened over time until her front legs were pointing almost straight up like some kind of golden dog-bird. As a result, she’s unable to move normally.

Her family loves Rexi like their own child, and her beautiful smiles show she loves them right back. Rexi romps and plays by using her back legs and resting on her chest. She even has a traditional wheelchair, but she has some difficulty maneuvering over and around obstacles without tipping over.
Rexi as a puppy
Rexi’s family created a donation page to help cover medical bills and prosthetics. Recently, a prototype prosthetic was made and fitted to her specifications. Thanks to over 700 generous donations, Rexi will soon be as mobile as any other dog.
