Project Canine works with local libraries to provide weekly opportunities for children to read to dogs. Inspired by programs like Reading with Rover, Bow Wows and Books gives kids the opportunity to practice reading skills in an environment that’s calming and judgement-free.
Bow Wows and Books
Would your dog be an awesome reading mentor?
Do you have a calm and social dog looking for a new activity to try? Project Canine is always looking for new dogs and handlers to join the Bow Wows and Books team in Seattle. They offer a therapy dog certification which includes a four hour class, scenario practice, and skills test.
There are many other dog-themed reading therapy programs across the nation. To find a program in your area, you can contact Therapy Dogs International or the ITA READ program to learn more.
