SEATTLE – July 22, 2016 – Rover.com, the nation’s largest network of pet sitters and dog walkers, welcomes Steve Heaps as CFO. Heaps brings a diverse background to Rover, having worked with startups to Fortune 500 companies, and will be focused on making sure the right systems, processes and accountabilities are in place to scale for handling the company’s trajectory.
“Rover is on track to roughly triple our revenue again this year, after nearly tripling last year. We’re not slowing down, and we need to put all the elements in place to prepare the company for the next level,” said Aaron Easterly, Rover’s CEO. “Steve brings not only a strong record of creating scale in large consumer businesses, but an incredible passion for our core values and a love for animals. He’s a great fit with Rover’s culture and will be a valuable addition to our executive team.”
Heaps has more than 20 years of experience as a finance executive and management consultant. Most recently, he served as the CFO at Yapta, a leading provider of airfare price assurance services for travelers. Previously, Heaps led the office of the chairman for T-Mobile US at Deutsche Telekom and was a senior vice president of finance and acting co-CFO at T-Mobile US.
“It’s not often you get to combine personal and professional passions at the same time,” Heaps said. “I was blown away by the Rover team—not to mention the company’s explosive growth. I’m excited to use my experience to help Rover continue to scale the business, while delivering superior customer service and supporting more pet parents.”
Heaps has a bachelor’s in accounting and a bachelor’s in biology, both from Washington State University. Heaps has a lifelong love of animals and currently has four dogs and a cat—all rescues.
