Pig and Kitten are Best Friends and the Cutest Thing You’ll See Today

Say hello to the world’s cutest duo—Scarlett the pig and Mila the kitten. These two are living the good life napping, playing, sunbathing, and eating together, and when we discovered them via their Rover sitter, we just had to share them with the world.

A surprise rescue kitten

Their special bond started when Scarlett’s mom Victoria got a call from her sister about a kitten.

Her sister, who works at Starbucks, heard a cat meowing from her spot at the drive-through window—and realized it was coming from inside the engine of a car! The whole team carefully removed the kitten. Victoria explains, “since my sister couldn’t keep her, knowing we love animals, she brought the kitten to us. Mila was about 3 weeks old … Now she is about 5 months old and happy as can be with her best pig friend.”

Best buddies

Ever since they met, Scarlett has taken on a motherly role with the kitten. Mila likes to play and bite at Scarlett’s ears while she’s walking, and Scarlett seems to enjoy it.

Victoria’s favorite memory of them took place around the time Mila was first brought to her home. She hadn’t learned how to bathe Scarlett yet, but the pig was in need of a scrub. All of the sudden, she noticed Scarlett lying happily next to Mila as the kitten cleaned her. Bath, conquered.

Just when you thought it couldn’t get any better…

Victoria says that the pair eagerly await their arrival home every day. “They’re both waiting on the platform of our staircase lying together and watching for us. Coming home to our fur babies is the best part of our day!”

SWOON.

Pet pig = lifelong dream

Victoria explains that she’s always wanted a pig. They’re adorable, very intelligent, and make great pets. They loved Scarlett from the moment they picked her up, and had no intention of getting another animal until Mila came along.

Scarlett is housebroken and harness-trained! She can also:

  • sit and spin
  • give some serious cuddles
  • offer kisses

Yes, Rover does pigs!

Scarlett and Mia’s Rover sitter, Shaun, said she was surprised and excited when she got a request to watch Scarlett. She’d been wanting to meet a pig in person for a long time, and Mila just sweetens the deal. Caring for the duo has been one of the great highlights of Shaun’s pet sitting experience.

“Mila is very young and playful,” Shaun says. “She will pounce Scarlett’s legs and playfully bite and Scarlett loves the attention and is very patient with the kitty.”

The pig and her kitten regularly share toys, follow each other around, and seem simply meant for each other.

Special thanks to Victoria for sharing her story, and to Shaun for being their fantastic Rover sitter and taking the adorable photos.
