Tate the rescue and Vernon the Vizsla are neighbors and soul mates. When the best friends wouldn’t stop tunneling under their shared fence to play together, Tate’s mom Hailee Graham decided it was time to give the lovebirds their own doggie door so that they could have playdates whenever they wanted.
The star-crossed lovers
The pair went viral last year for the adorable photos and wonderful story, but we wanted to let you know these two are still going strong!
Forbidden love
The dogs would not stop digging their way to each other, and Hailee thought the neighborly thing to do would be to let the pair play on their own terms.
The brilliant solution
Vern’s family agreed to the plan, and Hailee’s husband set to work installing the dog door. There is a solid sliding door to keep the dogs separated as necessary too.
Opening the gates of love
Tate and Vern (and their neighbors) love the new arrangement, and their love is still going strong.
Matching vests(!)
The pair recently had a joint birthday party with some of their dog friends. It looks amazing.
Just doing life together
We hope Tate and Vern have a long and happy life together!
