Boo’s family moved away, but they didn’t take him. He was found outside his old home; for reasons unknown, his former owners left their dog outside on the curb. Boo made himself comfortable among their discarded belongings, awaiting a return that never came.
Luckily for the dog, a concerned neighbor kept an eye out on him, putting out food and water. After a week, he started making calls to local rescues.
Mike Diesel, founder of Detroit Youth & Dog Rescue took that call. He worked tirelessly over two days to gain skittish Boo’s trust. He used every trick in the book (even McDonald’s sausage McMuffins!) to show Boo he was there to help.
Mike spent two days gaining Boo’s trust
Once Mike gained Boo’s trust, he immediately took him to the vet for a checkup. Sadly, Boo was suffering from stage two heart worms, so he’s been at the vet since his rescue, getting healthy. Once Boo is on the mend, he will be looking for a foster or adoptive home.
