Each year my dogs and I attend the SuperZoo trade show in Las Vegas. At SuperZoo, the latest and greatest pet products for the year are announced, from digging toys to pet hair removers, there is something for every type of pet and their owner. My dog Rossi is only a puppy so this was his first year, but my pup Maggie has been six times now and is a trade show pro.
We had a lot of fun and we got to test out some of the best new products of the year. Here are our top picks from SuperZoo 2018.
1. iDig by iFetch
The first-ever digging toy for dogs, the iDig was announced at SuperZoo and won first place in the New Product Showcase. It isn’t out yet but will be out soon. The iDig provides hours of positive physical and mental stimulation by encouraging the dog’s natural digging behavior through play. Owners just load the flaps of the iDig with their dog’s favorite toys or treats and watch them dig away to find the treasure.
2. FurZapper
FurZapper removes pet hair from your clothes in the washing machine. I’d never seen a product like this before, but as anyone with dogs knows, pet hair gets stuck in clothes despite going through the wash. Simply put the FurZapper in the washing machine with your laundry and the tacky surfaces pull pet hair out of clothes but don’t stick to the clothes itself. During the rinse cycle, the water washes the pet hair off the FurZapper and down the drain. It’s safe to use in the dryer too. No more pet hair on your clean clothes.
3. Skout’s Honor Urine Destroyer
We have a lot of dogs over to our house so we also have a lot of Skout’s Honor deodorizer products to clean up pee accidents. Why I love Skout’s Honor? They create environmentally responsible and socially-conscious products and make them in California. The best part? They smell amazing and work quickly, and with a house full of dogs that’s important to me.
4. The Bear & The Rat
The Bear & The Rat is a fun family owned line of dog treats known for their frozen snacks, and now they’re launching probiotic goat milk line. I’m a big fan of probiotics and use them daily for my dogs, so I’m excited to try these. Also fun: While the owners were starting their business, they worked as Rover sitters watching dogs to supplement their income. It’s great to know Rover (and many dogs) helped make their dream possible.
5. Pandaloon
Pandaloon makes pet costumes that can turn them into anything in your wildest imagination, from bears to unicorns. Of course, Rossi Bear had to try being a bear!
6. Pet P.L.A.Y
We love these plush toys in our house, especially the food line! Hot dogs, hamburgers, and more food items that rip apart and velcro back together. They have a new line of fun plush toys like gladiator helmets and cowboy hats.
7. Happy Hands Happy Dogs Knot’s of Fun
Knots of Fun are tug toys made of braided fleece (made in the USA) for the strongest chewers and tuggers. I love tug toys for dogs: they’re a great way to help get out some pent-up energy. These are long-lasting, and I like that you can freeze it for a game of tug on hot days. It also floats in water making it a fun enrichment toy in the pool, plus it’s great for just around the house fun too!
8. Doggie Express Treats
Doggie Express makes organic, gluten-free, dairy-free gourmet dog treats and they’re super cute, too. My dog Rossi gobbled up a bunch of these cookies. I love that they are themed—perfect for gifts to fellow pet owners—from sports to even dog bone representing your home state. I’ve never seen such customizable cookies for dogs!
