He’s equal parts Toothless the dragon, Dobby the house elf, and a baby bat—we think. When this little Chihuahua mix was picked up off the mean streets of San Francisco, his crazy facial expressions and larger-than-life personality blew his caretakers away. The staff at the San Francisco Animal Care shelter named him ‘Carpe Diem’ for his wonderful seize-the-day attitude. When it was time to take photos of the little guy for his adoption listing, Carpe Diem just couldn’t pull a straight face to save his life.
Thankfully, those crazy photos helped land a forever home for this #weirddog.
Carpe Diem goes viral
Carpe Diem couldn’t pose for a yearbook-worthy photo, well, ever.
But the dog was so good at pulling goofy faces, he became the face of #tongueouttuesday for SF Animal Care for months and the toast of the #myweirddog hashtag on Twitter. The tweet above got thousands of likes, finally landing Carpe a home.
Who could resist this little weirdo?
What if every day was tongue out Tuesday?
Am I doing it right?
Dazed and confused
Seize the tongue
Maybe part bat
Maybe part house elf
