“Deborah and her daughter were so kind, and Theo had the best vacation with them! He was spoiled with a pup cup, long walks, and snuggles! Definitely recommend booking your dog’s stay with them!”

“Tatiana was simply wonderful! Our pup truly thrived in her care and seemed so happy with her and her family. She sent us so many delightful pictures, which really gave us peace of mind while we were away. I’m so grateful for her kindness and attentiveness, and I will absolutely reach out to her again to care for our fur baby. I highly recommend her to anyone seeking a loving and trustworthy person to look after their pets.ss, and I will absolutely reach out to her again to care for our fur baby. I highly recommend her to anyone seeking a loving and trustworthy person to look after their pets.”

“Marley enjoyed his stay at William’s and loved playing with his dog Maui. William updated us often with reports and fun pictures. Marley even “helped” rake leaves with William. We look forward to the next time he can stay with William.”

“My dog Anna loves being there. Xinyi sends me so many updates and pictures so I’m very reassured that Anna is very well taken care of. 100% recommend! She is quick to respond as well.”

“Satyam took great care of our 3 month old puppy. He sent pictures and updates throughout the visit and our puppy left very happy! We would recommend booking with Satyam.”

“Katie did a great job taking care of our goldendoodle! She was very knowledgeable and patient with our energetic pup, which we really appreciated. Spyro showed some signs of separation anxiety, but Katie and her family were kind and understanding throughout. She kept us informed, daily sharing updates and photos. It was reassuring to know he was in good hands.”

“I recently had the pleasure of leaving my dog Venti with Jenna for an overnight stay at her home, and I couldn't be more impressed and pleased with the experience! From the moment we met her and her dogs to when I dropped off my pup, it was clear that Jenna is a true dog lover and experienced caregiver. Her home was warm and welcoming, and she introduced my dog to her pets in a calm, friendly way that instantly put them at ease. Throughout the stay, Jenna kept me updated with pictures and messages, making me feel comfortable knowing that my dog was in such capable hands. She followed all of my instructions to a tee, from feeding times to walks, and even made sure to engage my dog in plenty of playtime and cuddle sessions. I could tell that my dog was not just being "watched," but genuinely cared for. When I picked my dog up, she was happy, well-exercised, and clearly had a great time. Jenna's attention to detail and thoughtful care set her apart, and I can confidently say that I will be booking with her again for future trips. If you're looking for a loving, reliable dog boarder, I highly recommend Jenna! Your dog will be in great hands.”

“Valerie was exceptional!!! We highly recommend her, our English bulldog had the time of her life with Valerie’s dogs. Valerie was very responsive and sent us updates regularly, we’ve used Rover a couple times and by far this was our best experience.”

“We had a wonderful experience with James and Lisa. They took excellent care of Teddy, and it was clear he had a great time while we were away. They were very responsive to messages and sent pictures that really put us at ease, especially leaving our six month old puppy. When I picked Teddy up, he was happy, healthy, and clearly well loved. We would absolutely book with them again.”

“Kristen and her family took excellent care of my little chihuahua, Ringo. This was my first time leaving him for a full week and I had some anxiety but Kristen sent me photos and videos every day so I could see that my guy was enjoying the same comforts as he does at home (he is definitely an "on the furniture" dog). He got lots of attention and play time. He even slept in her son's bed. Kristen was very flexible with drop off and pick up timing, which is helpful with flights that are not always on time. The surrounding area of her place has lots of nice dog walking areas. Overall, the experience was great, and Kristen is super nice and caring. I will definitely contact her again when I travel.”

“Liane was super. I would def recommend Liane if you want your pup treated like one of the family while your away. Liane sent us great pics that really put us at ease while we were away. We knew Bella was being well taken care of, which was one less stresser while we were on vacation.”
“Cheryl was amazing! She hosted my sweet pups for 9 days. Send pics and updates. She even did a little birthday party for my Kelce's 2nd birthday complete with cupcake, hats, party goers (her family) and songs. They were so happy there. Would def trust Cheryl again and again with my fur children.”

“Fen received the best care while staying with Jennifer, her family, and their pupper Henry. Jennifer provided photos and updates throughout the weekend and always responded within minutes to my messages. Would love to have her care for our Fen again anytime!”

“Susana was great!! Super accommodating on time changes for drop off and pickup when flights got delayed. Sent frequent updates with photos of Stetson having a great time on walks and playing ball outside!”

About: I always wanted a dog as a kid and finally had one, which deepened my unconditional love for them. I bring a lot of patience and special attention, especially when caring for senior dogs, ensuring they receive the extra care and comfort they deserve. My genuine passion and understanding of dogs at every stage make me a trusted and loving companion for your furry family member. During my days off, I have the time and focus to give your pets my full attention and care. Without other major commitments, I’m able to provide dedicated playtime, companionship, and attentive care so your pets feel loved and happy while with me. I am available to care for your dog Thursdays after 2 PM, all day Fridays, and Saturdays until 8 PM. For boarding, I can welcome your pet from Thursday afternoon through Saturday evening. This schedule allows me to provide attentive, consistent care during these times. I live in an apartment with my 5-year-old dog, and our complex has a dog park where your pet can play and socialize safely. For small dogs, I use a comfortable crate at home to provide a secure space, and for senior dogs, I offer a cozy dog bed designed to ease arthritis and ensure their comfort. Whether in my home or yours, I prioritize a safe, loving environment tailored to each pet’s needs.
“Liz did a wonderful job watching my two pups! She kept me updated and send lots and lots of pics! I left my one dog with a prescription for her eye which Liz made sure she got twice a day. I will definitely go back to Liz to watch my pups in the future! She is very trustworthy and will take extra good care of your dogs! Thanks Liz!!!!”

“Eun has been very diligent in sending multiple pictures and videos daily to keep us updated about how Penny was doing everyday. FAQs
Frequently asked questions about Rover
Rover is a place to find and connect with local pet sitters and service providers. Book trusted care for dogs and cats, whenever and wherever you need it!
With Rover, you can discover loving pet care services in your neighborhood: pet boarding, house sitting, dog walking, drop-in visits, doggy day care, and dog training. We make it easy to get personalized care for your one-of-a-kind pet.
As a pet parent, you can search for local pet care on Rover by entering your address or zip code. Then, explore sitter, walker, and trainer profiles and learn more about their pet care experience, ratings, and reviews.
While it’s not required, Rover recommends scheduling Meet & Greets with pet care providers you’re interested in before booking. This is your opportunity to make sure a sitter is the right match for your pet's unique needs. Once you and the sitter agree it’s a good fit, complete the booking and payment through Rover. You can message your sitter anytime before, during, or after the booking!
Many sitters, walkers, and trainers offer multiple services on Rover, making it easy to book consistent and flexible care for your pets. For example: If your dog usually just needs a dog walker, but later on you need boarding over a long weekend, you can often book the same person for both situations. To see what other services a pet care provider offers, check out the “Services” tab on their profile.

Rover promotes safe experiences in multiple ways, like requiring all pet care providers joining our community to pass a background check. Every booking also includes reservation protection, 24/7 support, and the Rover Guarantee. Everyone on Rover has access to a block and report feature. In the unlikely event you need to report any messages, you can easily do so to Rover Support.
We encourage all pet parents and sitters to read verified Rover reviews and schedule Meet & Greets before booking. Meet & Greets are in-person meetings where the pet, pet parent, and pet care provider can get to know each other. This allows everyone to assess if the environment, skills, and experience align with each pet's unique needs. Check out our Meet & Greet Guide for more tips.
The best way to find a sitter who’s a great match for your pet is to first create a Rover account and fill out a pet profile. The more we know about your pet, the easier it is to help you find a sitter who’s a great match for them.
On the search page, you can filter sitters based on your pet’s unique care needs, like their size, spay/neuter status, whether they need grooming, if you’d like your sitter to have a fenced-in yard, etc. Some features, like weekly scheduling or full-time care, may vary based on the service type.
Add your information and search to see a list of sitters who match your criteria. You can move around the map to refresh your sitter options and find sitters closer to your home, work, or wherever you need care. Open sitter profiles to explore recent reviews, read about their care style, and see how to contact them.
Rates vary depending on the service, location, and experience of the pet care provider. This is because pet sitters, boarders, dog walkers, and trainers set their own rates on Rover. You may notice higher rates during holidays or for add-on services like grooming, pickup and drop-off, additional pets, and extended stays.
To get an idea of typical rates in your area, try a search on Rover. Enter your location and include as many details as you can. To make sure you’re seeing correct price estimates, complete an individual profile for each of your pets before you search.
This depends on the service, your pet’s care instructions, and the sitter, but generally speaking: A typical drop-in or overnight stay includes feeding, fresh water, potty breaks or litter box cleaning, and playtime. We know pets thrive on familiar routines, so Rover makes it possible to find a sitter who’ll maintain your pet’s daily rituals—whether they like company during dinnertime or require a minimum number of ball throws before bed.
Looking for sitters who really go the extra mile? Some offer what can only be described as luxury boarding, and they’ll detail how they structure a pet’s day in the “A typical day” section.
In North America, you can find the type of background check a sitter has passed by looking at their profile:
- A blue badge means the sitter has passed a basic background check.
- A gold badge means the sitter has passed an enhanced background check.
Rover was created to make it easy to find loving care for dogs and cats of any age, from puppies and kittens to senior pets. Some pet sitters do understand how to care for other pet types, such as birds, bunnies, lizards, or fish, and they may list this experience in their profiles, however Rover is intended for dog and cat care.
If you need a pet sitter on short notice, start by entering your dates into a Rover search. Look for the green checkmark at the bottom of each listing to find sitters who have recently updated their availability. Star Sitter status is also a good indicator that a sitter is likely to respond quickly to your message. The Star Sitter program recognizes pet sitters and dog walkers with a track record of highly-rated care for pets and responsive, reliable service for pet parents on Rover.
Not seeing the sitters you need? Try broadening your search to include sitters who live a little farther away.
Tip: In a time crunch? When searching, reach out to a few sitters at a time to find the best fit for your family even faster.
Rather than relying on one factor, Rover offers multiple trust signals to help pet parents evaluate a pet sitter’s reliability. Background checks, star ratings, repeat clients, photo updates, and Star Sitter status are all ways to identify a reliable sitter.
Another important step is a Meet & Greet or trial day. Both methods offer a way for the pet parent to verify whether a pet sitter is the right fit. Trial days are booked as regular services, like doggy day care or overnight boarding, and can serve as a low-pressure practice run to see how your pet interacts with their potential sitter before committing to a longer stay. Successful Meet & Greets and trial days can help reduce your pet’s stress during the actual stay and give you peace of mind while you’re busy or traveling.
