To participate in Rover's Sit a Dog, Save a Life™ Donation Program, select Sign Up in the upper right hand corner, and be sure to display the HSSW badge denoting your volunteer experience and/or commitment to donate a portion of your profits to HSSW. Please note: In order for HSSW to receive charitable donations from Rover Dog Sitters, payments for dog sitter services must be booked and transacted on the Rover.com website.

The Humane Society for Southwest Washington is dedicated to fostering a community where all creatures are treated with compassion and respect.

Founded in 1897, the Humane Society has a long tradition of caring for the animals of southwest Washington and surrounding areas. By working in collaboration with local veterinarians and animal rescue groups, the Humane Society and its partners in animal welfare look forward to a future where all companion animals will live in a loving home.

Through the work of our full-time and part-time staff, along with the assistance of more than 500 compassionate volunteers, the Humane Society for Southwest Washington offers an array of humane programs, including pet adoptions, community education, pet behavior advice, spay/neuter assistance and low-cost pet adoptions for seniors.

Through the generous support of local individuals, groups, and corporations, we are able to care for the thousands of orphaned animals we receive each year.

The Humane Society for Southwest Washington embraces an open admission philosophy. This means that we willingly accept every animal that is brought to us regardless of age, breed, health, temperament, or available space or resources. We believe that an open admission shelter is vital to the care of thousands of animals that would otherwise have an uncertain future. In accordance with this philosophy we remain dedicated to finding positive solutions to the issue of companion animal overpopulation in our community.
