My boyfriend and I just moved to Allston from NYC. Although we miss living just blocks away from Central Park, Boston has greeted us with open arms. There is a great little park just two blocks away, Ringer Park, that we take our Jacob to and he loves it! There is a gated field (it's actually the softball field) for Jacob to run around freely and we always meet new friends. If the field is being used, there is always the top of the hill where many doggies rendezvous.
We also discovered the Chestnut Hill Reservoir on one of our long walks and cannot stay away. On nice days, Jacob and I enjoy the walk from my apartment to the reservoir and back in around 1.5 hours.
All in all, the neighborhood is extremely dog friendly, compared to other areas in Boston. Dog's are welcome in many of the local businesses and more times than not owners are willing and ready to greet Jacob with a treat! Not to mention, there is always something exciting going on in the Petco just 3 minutes away! Just lovely.
I have been around dogs for most of my life. I recently left my job as an immigration paralegal and I am enjoying every second that I get to spend with my dog Jacob! Dog sitting has brought so much joy to my life, and I hope that I can make many more doggies happy and feel at home!
I have been a dog lover my whole life. My parents brought home a Jack Russel Terrier when I was just five years old. He lived for 15 years and passed away while I was in college. After graduation, I worked as an immigration paralegal in an office with a Yorkie named Ewi. I was with and cared for Ewi for four years. After leaving my job I decided that I would adopt a puppy, and here I am today with my ChiPom, Jacob.
My dog is an active dog that loves to walk/run on a daily basis. Is your dog active or more of a couch potato? Any special needs, allergies? Since I have experience with Yorkies, Jack Russels, and Chihuahuas, it would be wonderful to sit for those breeds. However, I love all dogs and do not mind sitting for other breeds.
I do not drive, however, there are plenty of reliable taxi services.
Yes.
I work Mondays and Wednesdays from 9:30am - 3:30pm, and I have night school Tuesdays and Thursdays from 5:30pm - 8:30pm. Otherwise I am intend to spend all my free time with the pups!
Just Ringer Park in my backyard!
We have a doggy bed as well as a crate, which has a memory foam cushion.
In the morning Jacob and I always start to Ringer Park. We do a whole loop before exiting onto Beacon Street and then back down to Long Ave. At around 2pm we head back to Ringer for 15 minutes of ball throwing and if not, walk down Harvard Ave all the way to Coolidge Corner.
