Time to play in Mission Hills Home!

Our home is nestled in the canyon of Mission Hills/Hillcrest where our dog, Rembrandt (black lab) happily resides. Rembrandt is two years old and has been socialized with all sizes/ages dogs since he was a puppy. We have a front and back yard with a in-ground pool (always supervised with dogs), and are walking distance to the Spruce Street Bridge and Balboa Park.

I am a current PhD student and college instructor, traveling back home to San Diego for my summer break. I have lots of free time and as an animal lover, can't wait to meet your pet. As a dog owner, I understand how important it is to find someone who loves pets as much as you, as well as someone you can trust in or out of your home.

I have loved dogs since I was child (I am now 29 years old!) and have raised a collie, a chocolate lab, and our newest addition, "Rembrandt" who is a black lab we rescued as a puppy from Second Chance Dog Rescue, San Diego. I am comfortable around dogs of all shapes, sizes, and breeds as long as they are happy dogs! As a dog owner, I know the importance of finding someone you can trust while you are away.

I do not have any breed preferences, though I have more in-home experience with medium-large breed dogs. I prefer to know whether or not they are social with both people and other dogs, and would like to know how your dog behaves on walks and at dog parks. Also, let me know if there are any dietary or physical needs your dog has. (I have experience with dogs recovering from both surgery and illness)

I have reliable transportation in the event of ANY emergency, as well as knowledge of local animal clinics and 24-hour emergency vet services.

I am comfortable administering various medications, just let me know your dog's needs and I will be honest about my experience.

Since I am off of school and work for the summer, I prefer to spend all/most of my day with your dog! I love going to dog beach, dog park, going on walks to Little Italy and the Harbor, or just playing at home if that is what you prefer.

Our backyard is fenced in and sits at the bottom of the Mission Hills Canyon (so it is very cool and does not get a lot of direct sunlight). We have an in-ground pool that is always supervised if dogs are in the backyard. The front yard is 90% fenced in with a lot of yard space.

We are happy having your dogs sleep in either the living room or our room, wherever they (and you) feel comfortable. We have a large master bedroom on the first floor that has a small sitting area and fire place, so there is plenty of space for your dog to roam around!

Because we live on the Mission Hills and Hillcrest border, our walks range from Mission Hills, Hillcrest, Little Italy, the Harbor, Banker's Hill and South Park. We also love to take our dog to the dog beaches in OB and Coronado, or on walks along the PB ocean and bay boardwalk. Since we have transportation, we are also happy to walk your dog in your neighborhood!
