Shannon K. - Animal Lover with medical background!

Hello,
My name is Shannon Klug. I have been in the animal field for 11 years. I started at an animal clinic learning the basics of animal care and moved my way up to a vet tech. I branched out learning to groom dogs and also have ran a boarding facility. Dogs have been my life all my life. I raise money for Aspca and the Humane Society to give our critters a fighting chance. I have in home care experience taking care of clients pets from the animal clinic. I have also gained clients through word of mouth. I believe it's very important to listen to what clients want for their dogs. After all clients know whats best for their fur babies. :) I also go above and beyond. Dog walking, trips to the dog park, medicating, and I even water plants and retrieve mail for clients as they are out of town. And lets not forget the amount of love I give! Some pets have separation anxiety and it's important to give extra love during these stressful times.

A bit about my personal life. For the last 3 years I've been a stay at home Mom to my wonderful daughter. I felt it was important to stay with her and not let day care raise her. Now she is old enough for me to branch out and get back to doing what I love the most. Being with my animals. I have a very special dog at home who is a rescue. She is a mixed breed named Onyx. I also have 3 cats and one bird who are all rescues. They rescued me. :)

I've been a dog lover since I was a lil girl. Animals have been a part of my life all my life. My parents have always fostered and sheltered animals. I learned to care for those less fortunate. I was taught to give these animals more confidence and make them into loveable adoptable pets. This made me want to work with animals after high school. This is how I became part of the animal field.

No breed preference. All dogs are created equal. I would like to know about their disposition. Is he/she shy? Aggressive? Silly? Sick? A puppy? Geriatric? Afraid of thunder? Does he/she suffer from separation anxiety? These are all important things to know. It gives me a better understanding on how to care for them. I want whats the absolute best.

Yes, I do. With a valid FL drivers license. I have a large 2006 Dodge Durango. I also have safety harnesses. And multiple dogs welcome. :)

Yes I am. I have a medical background as I have worked in a vet clinic for many years. I'm comfortable with pill medicating and giving shots. I can perform basic care in home with superficial wounds that dont warrant an expensive trip to the vet.

Yes I am. It's important to not worry about those lil things. I can take care of them for you. Ill also leave the front porch light on for you. :)

Depending on how much time you'll need. If the animal has severe anxiety I'll stay as long as you are gone. I feel that after feeding and walking it's important to have play/love time. Different canines need different care. It depends on the individual and the owners wishes.
