I live in a quiet Kirkland neighborhood with a large fenced yard. I have fostered for Seattle Humane Society for a year and a half. I foster smaller adult dogs and pregnant moms and puppies. I have 2 dogs and 3 cats and have been retired for 7 years...I have dog sat for many of my friends over the years...
I am a retired Flight Attendant and now work part time at Cafe Ragazze an indepentant coffee stand in Kirkland. I have fostered for the Humane Society for 2 yrs., I have fostered small dogs, pregnant moms and lots of puppies. Right now I have 2 adult mini aussies they are active and when meeting new dogs and people get excited but soon settle down. In the last 2 years I have foster over 40 dogs and puppies which my guys have adapted to beautifully and made many new friends.
I have always loved dogs and all animals. As a child we only had cats but when I grew up and became independent I have always had a dog or two or three.....right now I have two.
I prefer small to medium dogs but I will take an older big dog depending on personality
I have a car that is reliable and there is a very good emergency hospital that I have spent time at close by.....
Yes, however I have not done shots but have no problem doing it after some instruction.
I work part time (2 days a week) for 6 hrs, I am home most days from 2:00 on, there are exceptions but that is rare.
I have a small rambler but a nice sized yard. It is fenced but the fence is not high and for larger dogs or jumpers it probably would not be a good fit. I do have a working Invisible Fence.
That would depend on what they are used to, in the house for sure. Some dogs like their crates, others have a special pillow, one of my dogs sleeps on the bed and that would be a possibility too
I walk my dogs through the neighborhood, if you dog likes the dog park and I feel comfortable taking them that would be a consideration. I only go in the mornings and on week days.....weekends are too crazy!
