My name is Gina (Rita Regina King) originally from south Georgia, raised on a farm and always surrounded by dogs. I have spent my life caring for dogs, but did not have the stomach to do veterinary work, so I did the second best thing, pet sitting. I have worked with individuals and in doggie hotels learning the importance of giving lots of attention to your dog. I am a huge animal advocate and spend my free time volunteering and fostering for those animals less fortunate. I also share my knowledge of diet and basic training to those who need assistance. I have a huge heart for the older dogs and have first hand experience and patience needed to attend to the needs of a senior dog. I am great with puppies, also, and have the love and tolerance to show your puppy how to become a great dog. Regardless of age, your dog will be in great hands.
I spend my free time educating myself on the different breeds of dogs. I also study plant life and know what is dangerous to dogs, so those plants are not in my house or yard. I am familiar with many health issues dogs can have, especially in their senior years, and know how to handle those conditions. Working over the years I have gained knowledge in all of these areas allowing me to be a better sitter for you and your dog because not only do I love animals, but I care for their well being. Diet, exercise and consistency in training ensure our pets will live a happy and long life. Riley was over weight when I first brought him home and with a good diet and plenty of exercise he is at a healthy ideal weight of 100 lbs. Dogs can develop diabetes, bad joints and other serious health problems, just like us. Knowing how to prevent these issues or over come is very important to me and I would love to share this information. And if I don't know, I will find out, after all this is the age of information.
I have been a dog lover since birth. My true love came when she was 5 weeks old and I named her Miah and we hit the road for the next 17 years and found our home in Vegas. During her senior years, I had to prepare foods for her and learned all about pet nutrition and love to share what I have learned with others. She was laid to rest 5/2012, but not before showing me the true meaning of unconditional love. I have such a passion for all dogs, I decided to do pet sitting, so I would have the pleasure of having all breeds without owning all breeds. I have experience with individuals and working in doggie hotels. I branched on my own 3 years ago working with other people, besides family, friends and neighbors, which I have sat for since I was a little girl. I have never looked back or wanted to do anything else. A home is not a home without a dog.
The only things I need to know are any health conditions/medications, favorite toys/games and amount/type of food. It is important to know they are up to date with shots. I will consider a puppy, but it would be more money as they are not updated and need special attention. And I offer discounts for the senior dogs.
I have self taught myself about the health issues, nutrition and different breeds for dogs. If there is a breed I am not familiar with, I do a quick study to learn the quirks of their personality. All dogs are different and it is important to understand their breed, what they might be susceptible to for health issues and what they are breed for, i.e. hunting, entertainment.
I have reliable transportation, which is a Volvo.
I have no problem administrating medications of any kind. I have no problem with administrating medications of any kind to a dog, without having to use force. I learned a lot working in the doggie hotels and became very familiar with different medications and the importance of them. I don't do anal glands, but I do have a groomer who does this for me.
I am a personal assistant/house keeper, also, so doing errands, watering plants, taking the trash out, bringing in the mail, signing for packages, light or detailed cleaning and other jobs you may have, I am quite capable of doing.
I will spend as much time as your dog and you want. I offer visits and over night, which includes a 24 service.
Age: 3 years, 3 mo. old

Riley is a chocolate lab who loves having friends go on hikes with him. He came into my life 4/2012, when I was doing some fostering for the Animal Foundation. He was suppose to be adopted through an event called 'Best in Show,' but didn't show his best, lol. I went back to the shelter to adopt him and was going to find him a home through my own networks, but ended up keeping him because he is just too sweet and I couldn't stop kissing his ears and he knew he had already found his forever home with me.
Riley was over weight (116) and had no idea how to walk properly on a leash. Today he is a walking standard to all others and a true testimony of what time and patience can do when invested and is at a healthy 98lbs.
