Your Dog Deserves a Vacation Too

Pet care experience

*Fully insured professional dog trainer & boarder. Pet CPR & First Aid certified* Hi, I’m Mike. My wife and I, along with our Goldendoodle Toby would like to welcome your beloved dogs to stay with us in our comfortable duplex apartment conveniently located in Elmhurst, Queens. With two enclosed outdoor patios and access to nearby parks, doggy guests will be provided with mental and physical stimulation through daily walks and group playtime. Having boarded over a hundred dogs of all different breeds, sizes, and temperaments, we offer peace of mind for you and a fun and relaxed vacation for your dogs in their ‘home away from home.’ I am fully equipped to host all types of dogs, with tons of toys, dog beds, a gated enclosure for puppies, outdoor and indoor hoses, and a treadmill. Also, I will do basic grooming like bathing, clipping nails, and brushing, both teeth and fur, upon request. Included in the boarding, I will be happy to do basic and advanced obedience training including but not limited to: Heel, Sit, Down, Stay, Come. I'll also work on any behavioral issues your dog may have such as: Pulling on leash, Separation Anxiety, Possessiveness, Aggression, Fearfulness, etc. Finally, if you would like to impress your friends and family, I can teach your dog some new tricks. Toby for example can do sit, down, stand, shake, heel, rollover, play dead, stay, wait (for food), high five, low five, crawl under, jump over, come, go to *person*, bow, fetch, and most importantly, kiss kiss! For added convenience, pick up and/or drop off service by car can be arranged for an additional fee. Anyone who has their dog stay with me will receive photo and/or video updates. That way you can feel at ease knowing that your dog is receiving the best care possible. About this sitter: Originally in a corporate IT job, I started by occasionally boarding dogs and training my Goldendoodle Toby to do tricks in my free time. It was then that I realized that I truly enjoyed working with dogs and had a certain talent for training them, leading to my decision to pursue a career in pet services. I'm now a fully insured pet CPR and first aid certified master dog trainer and behavioral consultant. I work from home so I will be available 24/7 to care for your dogs, along with Toby who will be their playmate and companion. Also, my wife will be home to provide extra affection to your canine companions in the evenings and on the weekends. Personally understanding the special bond that dog owners have with their dogs, I will treat your dog as if it were my own, with love and respect. Special thanks to Eardog Production for providing some photos. Why I love dog sitting My wife and I have been lifelong dog lovers. When we bought our own place in Queens, one of the first things we did was adopt our beloved Goldendoodle Toby, now four years old. I have professionally cared for over a hundred dogs and am also a member of Pet Sitter's International, The International Association of Canine Professionals, and the Association of Pet Dog Trainers so you can rest assured that I am well trained to care for your dogs. Meet my pets My wife Julie and I, have a four year old golden doodle named Toby. He is very well trained and your dog is guaranteed at least one playmate at all times. About my yard I have an outdoor terrace in my duplex that is covered in faux grass. I have a canopy if the weather is too sunny, and a dog pool if gets too hot. My experience administering medication Yes. I've taken care of many different dogs with various medical requirements. As long as the owner provides clear instructions there will be no problems.

Michael is great!!! Rocky went to daycare at Michael's as a puppy and I wish I could have taken Michael to all the places/neighborhoods I moved to afterwards. Michael was getting his master trainer's certification training at the time so it was great to know that the pack in his home was well behaved.

Mike's laid-back demeanor put this human's mind at ease! I hadn't left Nugget with a non-family member before, so I was a bit nervous. But Mike put my mind at ease, starting with his detailed spreadsheet that gave me a sense of the type of care he gave, to the the videos Mike sent us daily, to the patient answers he sent to all my questions! From the videos I could see that Nugget was socializing well with the other dogs that were in his care and seemed happy. I highly recommend Mike and hope to have Nugget stay with him again soon!

Information Michael L. would like to know about your pet

I am fully prepared to care for dogs of all breeds, sizes, and temperaments. Before any dog stays with me I send a spreadsheet to the owner that I request be completed. The spreadsheet asks for basic information such as age, spayed/neutered, medication, feeding times and amounts, etc. Additionally I ask for owner preferences such as whether their dog is allowed on the furniture, and what they would like me to work on with their dog, etc. Lastly I ask for dog preferences. What does your dog dislike, and more importantly what does your dog enjoy? The ultimate goal is to make your dog’s stay as pleasant as possible.

A typical day

Here's where we'll take our walks In addition to walking around my local neighborhood, I am within walking distance of Juniper Park and Sherry Park Dog Run where my dog Toby loves to play with others off leash. Any dogs I look after can enjoy pack walks and play time within these parks unless instructed otherwise. Your dog's sleeping arrangement I believe in cage free boarding whenever possible. I generally allow dogs to sleep wherever they wish. Ultimately, I respect the owner’s wishes at all times. If an owner allows their dog to sleep on furniture then I allow them as well. Otherwise, if they are not allowed, they will be kept off. Any crates, carriers, pillows, etc. the owner provides will be used to make their pets stay as comfortable as possible. Time I'll spend with your dog As I work from home, I make myself available to dogs almost 24/7. My wife is also home in the evenings and on the weekends.
