Hi I am a city school teacher and I have two small dogs of my own who are my word. They love all dogs and have fun when we add a guest. My summer availability allows me to give your pup a lot of care and activity in which they will get a morning walk, lunch time walk and a long evening walk along the Gantry. I don't take dogs into dog runs unless the owner is comfortable with that. I've always had pets and grew up on a farm on Long Island. Me and my pups are now city slickers and want to help take the worry out of owners going away. I know how scared I become with leaving my loved ones with others and I would take care of your dog as if it is my family. About this sitter: Hi I'm a city school teacher and live in Long Island City with with my two pups Basil and Lentil. Helping kids and doggies are my two favorite things in life. My girls enjoy the dog run in my building as well as long walks to the Gantry.

Puppy and Tails had a great time with Melissa and her two dogs, Tomato and Olive. Melissa checked in with us regularly and treated our pups as her own. She was very responsive and flexible. When we came to pick them up they didn't want to leave! She seemed to genuinely adore our dogs which told us they received all the love they needed to feel safe and happy while we were out of town.
Melissa was over-communicative (in a good way), accommodating, and very loving with Goji. Will definitely be booking with her again.

A typical day
Here's where we'll take our walks I often walk to the Gantry along the water and to the dog run overlooking the East River. If you're not comfortable with a dog run or park then I would continue along the esplanade so that we get a scenic view and a nice long walk. Plus there is some greenery on that side which dogs crave when living in the city. Your dog's sleeping arrangement Either a bed that you provide if that's what is comfortable for your dog or with me and my two little ones in my bed. Time I'll spend with your dog As much as possible. Weekends I'm 100% around to give tons of walks and affection. During the work week your dog will get a morning, afternoon and evening walk.

Why I love dog sitting I grew up with a Bassett Hound and a Yorkie and have always had pets in my family home. As an adult I have a cairn and a westie and love them dearly (more than people) which is not nice to admit. I'd like to think I'm a great dog owner and my rationale has always been that they live for us and have short lives, so give them the best possible life while you have these little angels. I work as a volunteer for CPCTR which is a rescue for cairn terriers and conduct home inspections for prospective owners.
