Loving and fun apartment adjacent to a dog park!

Pet care experience

** I can accept medium/large/giant breeds that are not very active inside. My apartment has hardwood and my neighbor downstairs is able to hear larger active dogs. With quiet hours in my apartment building, I need to be respectful of that. Message me if you have any questions! ** I live in a 565 sq ft studio apartment with my dog Tanq. We live RIGHT next to a dog park- which we go to on days where it isn't rainy! My pup: Tanq is extremely friendly with all dogs and loves having friends around whenever possible. Follow Tanq on Instagram @StinkyTanq If you have any questions, please don't hesitate to message me! ***I DO SEND PHOTOS DURING YOUR STAYS!*** Spaces available: I am able to take up to 2 dogs, depending on size. Generally, I can take 1 large dog, or two small dogs. The best way to find out if I am free is to message me and we can chat if I am available! Must be dog friendly! If you have an active dog, please let me know when you message me. Sometimes this can prevent me from taking them, as I have hard wood floors that sound easily travels through. **If you were a past stay before 8/1/14, previous pricing still applies for you!** About this sitter: I have lived in Seattle for over 2 years (time flies!) and I have a 9 lb, unbelievable friendly black Pomeranian named Tanq. ***Explanation of Traveling pet sitting prices: $40/night: Two visits per day. 30 minutes in the morning and 1.5 hours in the evening. Time can be spent however you would like - walking, dog park, quick walk then pets at home, brushing, etc. $20 dog walk: 1 hour walk, or dog park visit (pick up to drop off) Prices discounted if it is a frequent walk. $30 cat care: 30 minute visit, includes litter cleaning, playing, petting, cuddling, etc. If you also have a dog, price is $7 per cat. I have a lot of experience caring for dogs. Before I could officially have a job I volunteered at a local vet. My first real job I had for a year and a half in highschool on weekends and was a "Playtime Associate" at a local kennel. I would walk dogs, play with them and overall make the stay at the kennel a positive one. I then moved up to a Daytime and Nighttime Pet care Associate. That job put me in charge of giving required meds. Feeding, cleaning and looking more intently at the health and well being of the cat/dog or small breed. I kept that job the summer after my freshman year at college. During my junior and senior year at college I actually got hired at a local but well known pet shop in RI. I was a cashier at first, learning the ins and outs of holistic pet food and training to be a sales associate. Once I got promoted to sales associate I was helping customers find the dog breed of their choice and helping them solve their pets health issues. Although I was never certified in anything I absolutely have a passion and desire to learn about pets of all kinds - Dogs, Cats, Snakes, Fish, Chinchillas, Guinea Pigs, Birds. The only kind I can't seem to appreciate are spiders like Tarantulas! Why I love dog sitting My whole life. Meet my pets 1 small pomeranian named Tanq! About my yard I live right next to a dog park - which I take the dogs to if it is a nice day. My experience administering medication Yes, I had to do it for my dog and cat. Although it typically wasn't much more than a pill, I have had to do injections. If you have questions just let me know!

Melissa is an awesome sitter! Hank can be a handful at times, and she takes excellent care of him while I am away. So grateful for her!

Information Melissa J. would like to know about your pet

The two most important things: - General traits associated with your pup. i.e. counter surfer, cuddler, any aggressive tendencies, likes wires, will destroy toys, doesn't like big etc. - Health issues Other than that, I would be happy to know anything else.

A typical day

Here's where we'll take our walks Around the neighborhood. I also live right next to a dog park, so I frequently go there with my dog on a nice day. Your dog's sleeping arrangement If your dog sleeps in a crate, you should bring it when you drop off your dog. Tanq sleeps in my bed with me and any dogs staying with me are more than welcome to as well. If the bunch starts to take over my bed though they might get shooed to their doggy beds. Time I'll spend with your dog I am a homebody and generally find myself, especially during the winter, hanging out at home and doing crafts after work. Time I'll spend with your dog It all depends on what you like! I do have a 830-530 job so depending on where you live would change the length of time during the day alone. However, I have an hour break for lunch and might be able to stop by during lunch!
