We love dachshunds & small dogs!
Pet care experience
— I have 13 years of experience with pet care, dog training (mostly positive reinforcement), and pack dynamics. — I consider my dogs to be my children, and I will make sure your dog is LOVED while you are away! — I was assistant manager of a doggie daycare for several years. — I am about to start online school for dog massage therapy. — I am home most of the time! Follow us on instagram! @weenie_luv I have two adorable dachshunds, so we of course love getting to play with other weenie dogs, but we love dogs of ALL other breeds too! All my furniture is very low to the ground and I have ramps and foam pet steps to help the short legged ones. I can massage your pup's tight back and neck muscles. I am also able to provide basic grooming services for most dogs including baths, nail trims, and ear care, and am very knowledgeable about holistic dog care and supplements. I send parents updates as often as desired. I went to school for engineering, physics, psychology, and art -- a science nerd / artist. I love to dance, bake/cook, learn about naturopathic medicine, make jewelry, do yoga, and hike and swim in nature. I grew up a water child in Hawaii but have called the beautiful forests of Portland home for about 14 years now. I have always loved dogs! I was responsible for the safety of up to 40 dogs at the doggie daycare I worked at for 5 years, by utilizing pack dynamic psychology and positive reinforcement training (sadly many doggie daycares do not train their staff this well). I grew up with a terrier/chihuahua and three sweet pit bulls, and now I have two dachshunds. I also fostered several dogs over the years, and have helped deliver and raise puppies. I love my furchildren as much as others love their human children. (My "Repeat Score" is low because I get most of my regular clients through referrals or meeting them in the neighborhood.)
Reviews
Meg did great with my anxious pup! It was my and Chloe’s first time going to someone new for sitting. Chloe loved her dogs! And she is normally very shy. Meg was great at giving me frequent updates, pictures, and videos, which I greatly appreciated. Wonderful sitting experience. Thanks, Meg!
Meg took our dog Pepper with a super short notice of 2 hours when we had an emergency come up. It was Pepper's first time staying with someone she didn't know and we felt extra assurance knowing Meg's background in pet care. Meg was very communicative and sent us lots of photos, so we were happy to see that Pepper was having a great time during her staycation, especially since she has separation anxiety! It was such a smooth process and we will for sure be booking Meg again anytime we need pet sitting in Portland. (Bonus tip, grab a drink at the brewery right door in her neighborhood after pickup or drop off!)
Meg was fantastic! She really cared for my dogs like they were her own. She communicated well with pics and shared knowledge and tips based on her experience, which I appreciated. I would definitely recommend her!
Meg was the perfect fit for my nervous little guy. We will definitely choose her again!

I offer attention and supervision. My dogs are mischievous so my home is pretty dog proof (no open trash cans on the ground, etc). I have a fenced-in patio where my dogs go out to sunbathe. My building is very dog friendly and we have a huge park nearby.

Information Meg M. would like to know about your pet
I'll need to know: feeding schedule and amount, preferred "potty" commands, frequency, and places they prefer to go potty, where they like to sleep, any medical/allergy concerns, favorite toys/games, how they greet other dogs/people on/off leash, any training concerns, and if they are okay being left home alone, for how long, and where (crate vs. free to roam).
A typical day
I will talk to them and give them so much love! Depending on the day/weather, we may go walking, hiking, or to the river. We will play, cuddle, and snooze together. Your dog may sleep wherever they please. My dogs sleep in bed with me.

I am home most of the time and when I’m not, my boyfriend often hangs out with my dogs. Dogs are social creatures and deserve and need near-constant companionship. Throughout history, humans have bred dogs to be our companions, so it is now our responsibility to show them this respect in return.
