I am a healthy, fit man with a dog of my own. My friends/neighbors seem to envy the energy & motivation i have for enjoying this life & the GREAT outdoors & taking my dog hiking & adventuring/camping. I am asked frequently to walk their dogs.. & caretake when they leave town. some friends have even paid me to take their pooches on camping & hiking trips with me. I work part time as a photographer in the greater Los Angeles area. I go sailing in my spare time. I Love the life i live. I truly enjoy the company of doggies & people. I am unable to dog-sit from my home too often as i am limited on space & permission from my landlord. I AM trustworthy & responsible & low maintenance if you would like me to care for your pooch in YOUR environment. :)
I have been a dog lover since birth. My father was training service dogs when i was born. I had my first dog at the age of 7 years old. He was a purebred Red Doberman.. I named him Red.. Go figure ?!? He lived to be 13 years old. The dogs i have & loved since then have all been rescue dogs. Now I have a Cock-a-poo (cocker spaniel/poodle) mix. Her name is Summer. you can see her in my photos.
I need to know how they interact with other dogs.. Some prefer the dog park, some prefer NOT ! I have NO breed preferences !! I need common info.. medications, feeding instruction, schedules, dietary requirements and/or restrictions.
I have a Mid-sized S.U.V. with current registration & insurance. Very dog-friendly & safe. I am an experienced driver with an excellent driving record. I am experienced at NOT allowing dogs to distract me or impede my driving.. no matter how Large or hyper.
I have experience working with older dogs, handicapped dogs & just plain healthy pooches that sometimes require a little medicine. I am well versed at on the spot first-aid for all sorts of emergencies. I have experience working with special needs & elderly dogs. I have extensive experience working with partially paralyzed animals as well.
I believe small tasks are reasonable, provide a good deterrent to possible threats & give your dog the feeling that things are "normal" in your absence.. Ultimately I am there to interact with your dog.. not clean the pool ! lol.. most additional tasks vary on a case-to-case basis.
Some clients require "night" care only and are able to walk their dogs first thing in the morning.. much like child-care for a Date night.
Multiple Day-care is a little different. This generally requires 1 long morning & 1 long evening walk with some kind of potty break mid-day. I also enjoy a couple of evening hours of "Lounge" time with your dog (movie, reading or snuggling on the couch).
