Pet care experience
I started pet sitting professionally in 2010 after I was laid off from my job in the tech industry. During the three years that followed I successfully built a list of clients that kept my portion of the business thriving. Sadly, I had to end it when I moved to St Louis for a new job in 2013. I worked in a kennel in Saint Louis for a while while and then started working on Rover. Now I live in Shady Side MD and offer boarding for 1 to 2 animals at a time. I have a lot of experience with pill administration, insulin shots, wound care, eye drops, ear cleaning...you name it.
Reviews
Lisa is wonderful with dogs. Our 7-lb chi-mix stayed with Lisa while we visited museums in downtown St Louis. I can't say enough about how great Lisa is! She's very quick and thorough with communication. She welcomed our dog despite the fact we were out-of-towners who only needed pet sitting for a few hours. When we arrived, Lisa brought her Jack Russell outside to help meet and greet my chi-mix on "neutral turf." Her own dogs were very well mannered and she offered to put them in a separate area if our dogs didn't get along -- but they got along well. I especially appreciated that Lisa's downtown apartment was very dog friendly and a safe place for my chi-mix who is small enough to fit thru stair rails. Lisa also kept us updated during the stay and was quick to reply to any texts from me. It was an A+ experience. I will definitely look Lisa up again and highly recommend Lisa for pet sitting in downtown St Louis.
Lisa was very accommodating at the last minute and did a great job taking care of my dog who was definitely going through an attachment phase during his stay. Thanks, Lisa!
Lisa did a great job of keeping us informed and sending us pictures updates of our dogs! They loved it there!
Wow! Lisa is clearly a true dog lover. Our dog was SO happy when we picked him up. We really appreciated the pictures Lisa posted. Drop off and pick up went smoothly, and communication was excellent. Highly recommended.

I have a fenced yard. My dog is a very sweet 13 years old who gets along with animals and children. I also am home most days because I do not like to leave him home alone too long.

Information Lisa P. would like to know about your pet
Is he anxious? Over time I have become more comfortable with nervous and stressed out animals. I do understand sometimes dogs can be defensive in a new environment. I have experience working with shy animals and will take measures to make him or her comfortable. Is she destructive? For pets staying in my home, please let me know if your dog is destructive. If he or she is accustomed to a crate, it is imperative that I have it for the pet sitting. Does she eat weird things? Will she try and eat plants, cords, doors, drywall, or anything out of the ordinary. Is he a protection dog? I need to know if the dog will behave aggressively for my and my dog's safety.
A typical day
I live in a great neighborhood for walking. I take my own dog for daily walks. He is not much for playtime so I would be delighted to have a dog to play with. I typically just let the animals take over. They are allowed on the furniture, but if you do not allow this at home and do not want them learning bad habits, I can discourage them from doing so. My own dog is not interested in getting on furniture.

I go into the office one day per week. I try to make that a short day if possible to make sure my senior dog is not left alone too long.
