Description:

I live in a duplex co-op house and we have both sides of the house, a large backyard and lots of space. All roommates love having pups join the family. We keep all areas clean and communal spaces are very dog friendly.
We also live right next to a park that is frequented by dogs and the grassy field is far away from the street. Every dog I have cared for loves this park (as do I)!

About Kelly C.:

Since my first word, "doggie", my love for animals has only grown with my desire to become professionally involved with dogs.
I am originally from Seattle, WA but have lived in Boston for over 3 years now attending The School of the Museum of Fine Arts and Tufts University in pursuit of my BFA. I am studying photography so I would love to share photos throughout the time I spend with your dog.
When I care for dogs, I make it the main priority of my day to day. I understand that my existence is vital to the dog and the owner. I have realized that they depend on me so that their lives can run accordingly and the ability to assist in such a way gives me pride in my work. Furthermore, this type of work is immensely enjoyable. The dogs that I have walked and cared for teach me about patience, compassion, and diligence and I would love to continue to interact and learn with pets and their owners.
I am available for late nights, early mornings, private dog walks, group exercise, daily in home visits, mid day potty breaks, and home care. Just ask!
I usually negotiate prices with the owners and would be more than happy to meet in person to discuss price, scheduling, arrangements and most importantly.. your dog!

Looking forward to hearing from you.

What would you like to know about a dog before sitting him or her? Do you have any breed preferences?

I would like to know the type of commands you use with your dog, if he/she has any problems/tendencies (barking at other dogs, pulling on the leash etc.) that you would like to me to be aware of or assist with, any allergies? Special toys he/she enjoys playing with? What is your dog's daily routine? I will try my best to maintain your dog's usual routine while he/she stays at my house.

I love all dogs big and small!

Do you have reliable transportation in the event of an emergency?

Yes, I would have reliable transportation in the event of an emergency. Two roommates have cars that I can use and I also have multiple friends in the area who I can contact.

Are you comfortable administering medication?

Yes. I have some experience administering medication. One of my labs had a deformed kidney when he was born and he needed to take pills. When he aged, he needed to be fed a liquid medication through a syringe.
So if the owner shows me how to administer medication, I would feel comfortable doing so.

Where will my dog sleep?

Wherever your dog feels most comfortable. I have a very soft blanket and comforter that I have dedicated to the dogs I care for that can be used as a bed and I happy to have dogs sleep on my bed as well.

Where will you take my dog on walks? Tell me about it.

We have a large backyard and live right down the street from a large park that is very dog friendly. Brighton is a great neighborhood to walk dogs. I love to go for long walks around the neighborhood. If your dog is in training, I have lots of experience with dog leash training (big and small dogs) and would be happy to help.

Kelly C.'s Experience:

I have been the pet sitter of my neighborhood since I was in elementary school receiving pay for walking, feeding, and care and I owned two yellow labs for 11 years (both have now passed on but I have one tattooed on my arm in memory). I have many references that will vouch for my dependability, hardworking ethic, and honesty. I am a responsible 22 year old who will care for you dog as if he/she was my own.
Currently I walk two dogs every week and care for dogs in my home regularly or in the owners home on occasion.
I have taken care of all sizes of dogs, trained puppies, dealt with old age, anxiety, and medications.

Are you willing to do additional tasks at my home while I'm away
(e.g., water plants, bring in the mail)?

Yes, no problem at all!

How much time do you plan on spending with my dog each day?

As much time as you would like me to. I love to take dogs for walks, play with them, and be sure that they are happy and healthy.
For a past owner, I would keep a log of hours for the owner to review each day when she returned home. For each visit, I would record the time I was with her dog (ex. 1pm-3pm) and what we did that day. Then she would know if her dog had a long walk/short walk, what time he was fed etc.

She kept us updated constantly via text on how Becketts stay was and was very attentive to his needs. Great dog sitter. Highly recommended.

I have had three hired, regular dog-walkers and Kelly was by far my favorite. Kelly was a fantastic dog walker for my less-than-easy-to-walk Golden Retriever, Duke. Kelly was on-time, responsible and trust-worthy. She let herself in and out of the apartment to take Duke on walks around the neighborhood. She worked with Duke on his leash-walking manners and handled him well in the urban environment. Kelly came prepared to our initial meeting, had great questions and made notes. Kelly was great at communicating with me about our schedules as well as Duke's progress. If I still lived in the Boston-metro area, I would hire her again in a heartbeat! (Collapse)

Kelly did an amazing job with my lab mix, Cooper. She came over and walked/fed him twice a day while I was out of town. When she first came over she took notes and was very attentive. She sent pictures of him while I was away which is always a comfort. Will definitely hire her again!

We recently went on vacation to Vegas and Kelly was able to help us out at the last minute. Never have we used this site and a bit hesitant we were about having someone take care of our very large puppy. However, we found Kelly and she was amazing. Beckett our 1 year old Doberman can be a hand full he still has all his puppy energy and still likes to test you with his boundaries. Kelly kept right up with him and kept him in check. She was amazing with texting us pictures and updates on how he was doing (feeding behavior play time ect). We highly recommend Kelly and the support that she had in aiding her with taking care of our dog. Overall she is amazing and defiantly a reliable and trustworthy person. Thanks Kelly!!! (Collapse)
