Kate R. - Dog loving student seeking summer work

My name is Kate, I spent four years in dog 4-H when I was younger and often pet and house sit for friends. I have a day job and work various days throughout the week, but am free early mornings and nights to feed dogs, administer medicines, etc. I am comfertable with all types of dogs, large or small, any breed. I have taken care of dogs with specific medacations and dietary needs and have no problem cleaning up any mess that may come about.

I have four years of dog 4-H and training experience and have sat for different dogs throughout the last few years.

I have a leash that I bought and keep in my car due to the fact i have a seemed it develope a habit of picking up strays, two in the last year. This last term I found a border collie mix running around my local Fred Meyers parking lot and had to call my professor to say I would have to email him a paper because I spent most of the morning driving around CLackamas county trying to find a no kill shelter that could take him. I am sadly not able to have a dog at this time due to work, school, and a rental agreement stating no dogs, but I would love to be able to help out dog owners take care of their pooch.

No breed preferences. I have a diverse work schedule but I know what I am working fairly far out and can help plan accordingly for any dogs that might need more care. Generally speaking I would just like to know basic care that the dog needs, habits or quirks that they might have and any idea of any schedule they might be on so that i can try and keep things as normal as possible for the animal while their owners are away.

Yes I have my own car.

I have administered medications to animals in the form of pills and liquids, either directly giving it to them orally or placing it in food or treats. I have some very limited experience with bandages and cleaning wounds.

Yes, one couple I frequently sit for has a garden that I water as well and garbage to take out during longer stays and collecting mail and newspapers.

As stated previously I do have a diverse work schedule, but outside of that I would be happy to stay at a home with a pet, take them to the park, stay the night, whatever you may wish.
