Kaitlyn G. - Excited to take care of some Pooches!

I have about three years experience volunteering at the Oregon humane society, feeding, walking, and playing with dogs and cats of various breeds. I also, during the school year work as an animal care taker on my university's farm. For this job I care for chickens, goats, sheep, and rabbits. I have also worked with ducks, hamsters, guinea pigs, snakes, frogs and turtles! Of course I also own pets and have also pet sat for friends and family before. I've always loved animals and I'm hoping to, after getting my Bachelors, intern and train at an aquarium. I have an extreme love for marine life and love studying about the various sea creatures, Cnidarians, Echinoderms and various Whale species included! I also have plans to attend a vocational school in which I’d be working with big cats. Pretty much I plan to stay in school forever! There are so many things I’d love to do, and while my current studies lead down a different path (I’m a Creative Writing/Literature Major) I would still love to find a job working with and saving animals. I pretty much plan to be one of those people who lives on the beach for a year saving baby turtles or working on a ship tracking the movements of the humpback whale, while writing on the side about my experiences!

About two and a half years volunteering at the Oregon Humane Society, where I walked, played with, and fed the dogs and cats. I also for the last two years have been working on a farm as an animal care taker. I work with Chickens, ducks, Goats, Sheep and Rabbits! Mostly I feed and keep track of the animals. I also observe the behavior of the animals and keep them healthy.

I have always loved dogs. I grew up with them and couldn't imagine coming home and not being greeted by my fury friends. I recently studied abroad and spent some time in Greece where there are dogs everywhere. I pretty much fed every dog in the city! I had my own little dog groupies, I would have kept them all!

No breed preferences, although I'd like to sit dogs that are ok with strangers! My family adopted a dog from the Humane society and there was no history on him, although they believe he came from an abused home. He's ok with the family but he hates strangers. He becomes a different dog when other people around, so I'd just like to work with dogs that are ok with other people.

I do have a car, and most of the time it works! I have awful car karma, I can never seem to pick one that wants to work! But for now me and my car are getting along, and if we have a fight I have access to another car.

I'm comfortable giving pets their meds. My dog Mushoo had a brain tumor and cancer and was on pills for the last two years of his live. I know the tricks to get dogs to take their pills!

I'm comfortable doing pretty much anything! I love plants (I make terrariums in my spare time) and I'm happy to fetch the mail!

It depends on what you're wanting! Most likely 3+ hours, walking, playing with, feeding and just chilling out with your dog, if you want me to be there all day, then thats fine as well!
