You can say, it all started with a chicken. A trip to the corner grocery store led to an encounter with a dirty one. It was dark and rainy and there he was, wandering. I skipped the store, bathed and fed it at home. When my mom came home to a sparkling chicken in our empty fish tank, she was not too pleased and released him. That didn't stop me from rescuing animals though. On my first visit to Peru I begged my mom to buy me a bag of cookies. As soon as they were purchased, I threw a cookie out to every stray we passed. On what was supposed to be a college shopping trip downtown, I brought home a baby husky. I trained him in one week, he was my best student, but again my mother was not pleased. During an apartment hunt with one of my classmates in college, I ran into an abandoned apartment with 3 kittens and 1 guinea pig. We rescued them all. After college, a street cat followed me home. I named him Lucky.
