I am particularly skilled at working with pets who have special needs, including puppies and seniors. I love pets of all sizes and breeds, having worked with over two hundred dogs, including but certainly not limited to Pit Bulls, German Shepherds, Dobermens, Mastiffs, Bulldogs, Hounds, Terriers, Chihuahuas, Labs, Great Danes, Greyhounds, and mixed breeds. I treat your pets and home with great respect. I give your pets plenty of affection and exercise. I make sure that fresh water and food are available at times you designate. I am good at giving medications and injections. SERVICES I offer overnight petsitting in your home. I am available outside the Sterling and Rock Falls area, however an additional travel fee will apply; please contact me for a quote. I offer morning, mid-day and evening drop-in visits and walks in Sterling and Rock Falls only. I also offer boarding in my home in Rock Falls, however certain restrictions apply, as I rent my home. I consider myself very fortunate to be able to spend quality time with a wide variety of pets. I am a pet care professional, but to pets, I am like the kindly aunt whom they quickly grow to love. MY EXPERIENCE I owned and operated my own pet care business on the northwest side of Chicago for five years. I provided drop-in visits, dog walks, overnight petsitting in clients' homes, and kennel-free boarding in my home. I've been doing the same in the Sauk Valley for over two years. At our initial free in-home consultation, I get to know your pets and your needs. I take notes and ask a variety of questions about your expectations about houseskeepiing, meal times, play times, walks, dog park visits, medications, special needs, etc. I use a detailed questionnaire to guide our discussion and answer any questions you have. If you think I'm a good fit for your home and pets, I email a Service Plan accordingly. My #1 Priority: Pets are like children. They need to be loved, guided, and supported. But Safety is my #1 priority. I maintain strict safety rules. For example, I secure all doors and windows before entering and upon leaving their homes. I make sure their collars or harnesses are securely attached to their leashes prior to taking them outside of their homes. I make sure they have no opportunity to ingest anything potentially harmful. I never bring other animals or people into their homes. I don't drink, smoke in the home, or take any illegal substance. I am especially good at walking large dogs and dogs who pull, and I ensure complete safety when walking in them your neighborhood. I treat elderly dogs with extra patience and care. I have some experience training dogs, but my role in your home would be mostly to reinforce whatever training you've already provided. I take good care of the outside and inside of your property, including picking up debris, watering plants, keeping your shades, blinds, curtains opened and closed as you like them and your lights and climate control on and off as you prefer. BONDING & INSURANCE I am fully insured & bonded thru Rover. Your pets and your home are completely covered from loss or injury, per Rover’s policies and procedures. Rover conducts full criminal background checks and will not allow a pet care provider to post a profile unless that background check is clear. FEES The fees quoted are ballpark figures. They may vary, depending on your needs. Please note that Rover charges both petsitters and pet owners fees. Petsitters are charged 20% while pet owners are charged 11% fee. Petsitting does not normally include dog walks, but walks are available for a small additional fee. Other fees are outlined on my profile and include number of pets in the home and dog walks needed. My sons are in their twenties, and I'm semi-retired, so I devote quite a bit of time taking care of pets.
