Description:

Cottage home one block from the Kirkland beach for walking and swimming in the lake if he/she likes. Great location for your pet's vacation. Fully fenced back yard and run of the house. Former owner of medium mixed breeds, and large labs and bouviers. All adult household.

About Gary C.:

My whole life I have been a dog lover - dogs have always been part of my family. I find myself with an empty nest now and have room for your dog.

How long have you been a dog lover? Tell us about your history with dogs.

I was born into a family with dogs, and they have always been a part of my life. Have had mixed breeds from the shelters, rescues, amongst others. Really believe that all families should have a dog. When things are not great, they are always there for you with their love.

What would you like to know about a dog before sitting him or her? Do you have any breed preferences?

No specific breed preferences, but to be honest I prefer medium to larger dogs rather that small dogs that are "yippy"

Do you have reliable transportation in the event of an emergency?

Yes I have SUV that can transport any dog.

Are you comfortable administering medication?

Yes--i am from a medical background.

How much time do you plan on spending with my dog each day?

Actually, will probably be with the dog all day. Retired and have endless time to go walking and go to the beach...or sit around in the fenced yard.

If you have a backyard, please describe it.

Back yard is totally fenced to the ground..flat and grassy.

Where will my dog sleep?

Just about any where he/she wants.. Unless you have a preference.

Where will you take my dog on walks? Tell me about it.

Just a block from Lake Street in Kirkland. Numerous parks along the water.

We left Drifter with Gary while we moved to Downtown Kirkland. He had a lovely stay in their home, where he was treated like royalty. He roamed the house and back yard, greeted passersby from the couch in the front room, and slept in his kennel in their bedroom. A great help and loving pet owners!

Our experience with Gary was 5 star all around. This is the 3rd time our dog has been there and we will continue to book with him if he is available.

Our dogs stayed with Gary for nine nights. They were immediately welcomed into his home and obviously extremely well cared for: they were so happy and relaxed when we picked them up. We feel so fortunate to have found such a loving and reliable sitter.

We felt very comfortable leaving our 10 year old standard poodle with Gary. From the first time we met him, we could tell he loves dogs and Hershey would be well cared for. Hershey loved his big back yard to run around in and his trips to the beach. I will use Gary again the next time we go away without hesitation.

Gary was great with my dog Luke! Gary is a great guy with great energy. His home is in such a nice area in beautiful downtown Kirkland. A cozy and pretty home with a great back yard. I had such peace of mind knowing that Gary only cares for one dog at a time or two dogs if they are from the same family (used to being with each other). My dog has been attacked by another dog before and I am a lot more cautious about this since then. We recieved a sweet text message the first night with a picture of our dog and that was such a nice detail, made me happy he was being watched by someone who was really caring for his wellbeing and our peace of mind. I would highly recommend Gary and his great home! Two paws up :) (Collapse)

Gary went above and beyond anything I would have even hoped for in taking care of our beloved, elderly Great Dane. His home is ideal with a large level backyard with both sun and shade for her to relax; he even put her very large bed front and center in the living room so she would be the center of attention! He was gracious in keeping me (very worried about leaving her for 10 days) updated with texts and photos to reassure me as to her well-being. I will always leave Daisy with Gary and would give him the highest recommendation for any friends or family looking for a loving, safe & comfortable home for their dog. (Collapse)
