About Fern G.:

Pet care service in your home. I have been a pet sitter, for more than 10 years. Each visit to your home consists of appropriate care for your dog, cat, bird, rabbit or other pets. I will spend time (approximately 20-30 minutes per visit) with your pet, be it walking the dog or playing with your cat (should the cat want to play). I also, at every visit, scoop out the litter box, change water, and feed your pet(s). If you are on an extended trip/vacation I will also bring in the mail, rotate lights on/off to look as if someone is home, water plants and take out or bring in trash receptacles.

I will take care of your precious animals as if they were my own - I have two dogs and a cat. (All strays).

I have been a pet sitter now for more than 10 years; have two stray dogs of my own and generally can deal with most dogs - given up front information on their behavior.

What would you like to know about a dog before sitting him or her? Do you have any breed preferences?

no breed preferences, but need information on: a) aggressive behavior; b) disposition with new people; c) erratic demeanor etc.

Do you have reliable transportation in the event of an emergency?

yes, as long as: a) crate availability; b) established vet relationship (records can be obtained); c) able to obtain credit information quickly for emergency room visit;

Are you comfortable administering medication?

I will administer medication if 'pre-loaded' into delivery mechanism (syringes, tablets, etc)

Fern looked after our pets for a second time this past weekend and all went well. Her thorough note-taking the first time served well as this time she needed few reminders. Our pets were well-fed and happy to see us when we got home. Fern left a note after her stay and reported that even our more rambunctious dog was a "bit more friendly" this time around.

Our two large dogs took right to Fern, acting cute and wiggly, thoroughly enjoying her attention. According to the note Fern left after looking after our pets for 2 days, even our somewhat skittish cat came out to be sociable. We really appreciated Fern looking after our pets on short notice.
