I've been caring for dogs personally since my family brought home our dog Chewy 14 years ago. Chewy is still doing well and is living the life of a spoiled Palo Alto pup. I have taken care of sorts of personalities, breeds, sizes, etc. since I began here on Rover 9 years ago. I find it meaningful and rewarding to help pets feel safe and happy when their parents aren't available to do so themselves. I love getting to know their unique personalities, their quirks, their likes and dislikes, etc. In addition to providing pet care through rover I have my own dog, Rocky who I adopted in January of 2022. I also had a senior rescue before him named Albus who has since passed. Before Albus I hospice fostered a small Yorkie named Scooter with medical complications and every day with him was so special. Due to my substantial experience with senior pups, I have experiencing administering oral medications for dogs in pill pockets. Overall I have a deep love for animals of all kinds, and a sense of caution and prioritization of safety that makes me well suited for caretaking. I am very careful in my drop in visits and walks to ensure pet safety comes first. From the moment I unlock the door, I am cautious about entering to ensure no one escapes. In your home I am respectful of the space, ensure the pets have access to water and food (if they free feed or are being fed by me.) I like to familiarize myself with your pets habits and any schedules or training they follow to help sustain your efforts to keep happy healthy pets up when you're not home. When I am on walks I like avoid other dogs unless explicitly informed that your dog and the passing dog are in fact friendly and their body language suggests that they are. I carry water and treats with me, and am happy to accommodate any allergies your dog may have in the treats I carry. When I leave I make sure to have accomplished the necessary tasks, double check the pet(s) have enough water, and lock up.

I have a prewritten set of questions I will provide owners with at meet and greets. The more information I have about your dog the better I can for him or her. We have a soft spot in our hearts for labradoodles given Chewy's breed, however the first dog we cared for was a 9 month old rescue mutt with behavioral problems and we loved him pieces.
A typical day
When I walk dogs I typically walk around the neighborhoods they are familiar with and the routes they like to maintain their sense of routine and safety in my care.

I am currently a full time student studying Middle Grade Math Education at WGU with a flexible schedule that can be adapted to your dog’s routine. I have found that in your absence your dog relies on their routine for feeling comfortable and safe.
