Emily M. - Caring for your pet like it's mine

I recently graduated from college on the East Coast and moved to Portland about a month ago. I would love to eventually work with dogs in a humane society or dog daycare. I know from experience that I want the best care for them as possible. I would love the opportunity to watch yours.

I was a volunteer as a dog-walker at my local human society and I am a two-time golden retriever owner so I know how to deal with bigger dogs.

My family and I got our first dog when I was three. I have loved dogs ever since. When I go to people's houses, you will usually find me playing with the dog (if there is one). I love their different personalities and expressions, their habits and abilities, whether they can play fetch or swim or talk.

I prefer golden retrievers or labs but I don't have any strong preferences for any breed of dog. I would want to know any dietary, behavioral, or physical issues before sitting a dog, to make sure I won't harm the dog in any way.

I have a car and a bike as my transportation.

My dog takes medication (pills) in the morning and evening so I am comfortable giving a dog medication.

I am willing to do whatever tasks you ask.

I plan to spend at least a few hours with the dog each day, whether it be going for a walk, playing fetch, or just playing with toys around the house.
