Yappy Days Farm!

Pet care experience

I have been working with animals of all kinds for most of my life. I have experience in vet clinics, animal shelters, and pet stores. Due to my varied experiences caring for special needs pets giving medications is a breeze. You can rest assured that when your dog is with me he will be treated like a member of my family! I have a 3 acre fenced in yard and lots of toys for doggie playtime. Our yard is surrounded by farm land and is very secluded so your dog will be able to enjoy the great outdoors without any strangers to bother them! I am currently working toward getting my dog training certification and have lots of hands on experience teaching obedience and modifying behavioral issues. If you have any questions feel free to send me an email. I look forward to meeting you and your furry friends!! About this sitter: I absolutely love animals and have experience caring for almost every pet imaginable. I am currently working on becoming a certified dog trainer and am hoping to complete my training by the end of 2024. I have lots of experience teaching basic obedience and working through behavioral problems. To me pets are family and I would love to care for yours! Why I love dog sitting I have been a dog lover since I was a little girl. I trained my aunts dog in 4H for 2 years when I was 12 and then my own dog when I was 16. I also started volunteering at my local animal shelter at 15. I absolutely love animals of all kinds and look forward to meeting yours! Meet my pets I currently have 3 dogs. Kodiak is a 4 year old Australian Shepherd, Tuck is a 2 year old Jack Russel and Gia is the newest baby at the house and she’s just 10 months old. About my yard Our yard is roughly 1/3 acre that is completely fenced with a 6 ft privacy fence. For security our yard does not have a gate and can only be entered from inside the house. The yard is mostly shaded by big oak trees, but there is lots of sun as well if your dog prefers to sun bathe. We do bring out the kiddie pool when we have water loving dogs at the house, when it is in use it is emptied and cleaned daily! My experience administering medication Yes. I have lots of experience administering medications from working in animal shelters and vet clinics.

The experience I had with this individual was awful from the start. To begin she didn't want me to see where she lived, which I thought was weird, I couldn't locate her house on my GPS so we met at the nearest gas station, at that point she suggested taking my dog and his things from there which I opposed to do being I wanted to know where he was going to be. Feeling like she had no other choice, I followed her to her house, which by the way its a nightmare to say the least, I really hesitate to leave my dog in such environment, but at that point I had no other choice, "I had to leave the country the next day" this individual even told me "if I were you I wouldn't leave my dog here" that didn't make things better, anyway I was promised pictures every day, that only happened the first three days the next 13days nothing. Pick uptime was at4pm I showed up the gas station at 3:45pm because, again her trailer home is not recognized on a GPS, only to hear from her that she wasn't in the area and I would have to wait till 8pm which I couldn't do. She offered to bring me my dog, which I didn't her to do,so I op-ed to pick up my dog the following day, come the following day again we met at the gas station and her lack of professionalism was so that of a trailer trash individual that she literally handed me my dog and threw all of his things on the side of the road. I would NEVER recommend this individual to any dog lover. Do your research, stay away from this individual. First time using Rover, and most likely last

Emily was amazing with our Goose! Not only was she able to take him on such a short notice, she was excited about having him stay with her. She sent me daily pictures and updates of Goose playing with her pups and having a fantastic time. Emily’s communication was fantastic and helped ease any anxiety I had about not being able to bring Goose with us on a road trip. I cannot say how thankful I am that Emily was able to watch and care for our dog on such a short notice and during the Thanksgiving week. We definitely will be recommending Emily and booking with her for any future needs. Absolutely amazing, I cannot say it enough.

If your dog(s) is good with other dogs it can hang out loose with our pack just like a member of the family. If your dog is uncomfortable around other dogs I will stay with them in our spare bedroom and rotate who is out loose in the house and in the yard. We have a small fenced in back yard and then the main yard that is around the entire property.

Information Emily B. would like to know about your pet

I would like to know about a dog's personality and special needs before they come into my home. I feel I am experienced enough to handle most dogs and any challenges they may present, but knowing about them before hand can help me better prepare for their care. I do not have a prejudice against any breeds, all doggies are welcome!!

A typical day

Here's where we'll take our walks Most of the outside time would be in my yard playing with toys and or other dogs, however if you request for them to go on walks there are several parks within 10 minutes of the house. Your dog's sleeping arrangement This varies depending on the dog and where I think they will be most comfortable. Our 2 Aussies prefer to sleep in their kennels in the living room, our pitbull mix prefers to sleep on the couch, and our small dogs sleep in bed with us. We can feel out what we think your dog will like best, they can either be in the bedroom with us, in the living room, in the spare bedroom, or in a kennel. Time I'll spend with your dog I am currently working mostly from home so your dog will be with me 24 hours a day barring any errands I need to run to the grocery store etc. I usually wake up about 9:30 which is when the dogs go outside for the first time of the day, this is the shortest break usually lasting only 10-15 minutes. We then come in for breakfast. Around 10 we go back outside for about 30 minutes to an hour depending on the heat index. I usually try to encourage a down time in the afternoon about 1-3pm when I offer puzzle toys or kongs and most dogs will settle down for a nap. The rest of the day is spent either playing, relaxing or both until dinner at about 6 and then bedtime at 10. If you have any questions about the day feel free to let me know!!
