Pet care experience
Offering a completely dog friendly home with a fabulous yard just north of Wilson Park in Bridgeport. It is an ideal home away from home for your dog if your dog likes other dogs. Big or small, puppy or elderly, I have been taking care of dogs primarily as a dog walker, serving the south loop for 18 years! If your dog does not like other dogs I can offer a room of their own. While I still do midday dog walking, dog boarding grew out of my clients needs for a caring home while they were out of town. I have had as many as 9 dogs in my home at Christmas time but quite often my 30lb dog, Riddle and I are the only occupants. I would love to be able to take care of your best 4 legged canine friend the next time you need to go out of town.
Reviews
Everything was perfect!
Elizabeth did a great job watching our two dogs, including a taking our lab to the vet when one had a problem. She contacted us, send pictures of the problem and took her to the office. She has a very comfortable place for the dogs she watches and is every experienced with noting their behaviors. A caring sitter!
Elizabeth has been looking after my dog, Charlie, for over 7 years now, so she's practically a member of the family! She sees Charlie for daily walks and take great care of him when I'm out of town. I tell Elizabeth that I don't worry about Charlie when I'm away other than to hope he's being a well-behaved guest. I can't thank Elizabeth enough for all that she does!

Why I love dog sitting Some of my first memories are of our dogs Lightening(German Shepherd) and Sir Black (miniature Poodle) living in Caracas at the age of 4. When our puppy Midnight (standard poodle) was brought home at the age of 10 my destiny for dog care was sealed. I became his primary care taker. We currently have 3 standard male black poodles in the family, two sisters and my parents each have one. After graduate school at the School of the Art Institute, I adopted One-eyed Jack, she was found at Starved Rock, literally a starving 4 month old shepherd collie mix, with one eye. She turned out to be an incredible pet, therapy dog and was the inspiration to begin my dog walking business in the south loop. At one point I had three jobs and could not get home to take care of her. That was when I discovered no one would come to Pilsen to walk dogs in 1994-95. My current dog, Riddle, could not pass the very difficult therapy dog test but she is a wonderful companion of 8 years. Now I have 18 years of experience with all kind of dogs, of all different sizes, ages, breeds, mixes and dispositions.

Information Elizabeth B. would like to know about your pet
I do not have any breed preferences. I was raised with and my family continues to buy pure breeds and I adopt rescues because there are so many dogs that will die because there are not enough homes for them. I would have a pack of dogs if I could, like my Dad did when he was a boy in Connecticut. I would love to know as much about your dog as you can tell me. The more you tell me the better I can do my job. So please tell me everything! Health is the most important, then behavior. I need to be able to secure the safety of all the pets in my care and whatever information I can acquire to insure their safety and well-being allows for continued success.
A typical day
Here's where we'll take our walks A short outing is to Wilson Park, about 8 houses south of my house. It's a lovely little park with a circle pathway. I tend to just use that as a quickie default but my street/area are lovely tree lined streets, a residential area with lots of grassy parkways. Your dog's sleeping arrangement Wherever your dog chooses, couch, dog bed(s) many to choose from, easy chair or floor. Riddle lets me sleep on a tiny corner of our queen size bed. Despite her small size she pretty much takes over our bed. Time I'll spend with your dog I am home all day and all night with the exception of 4 midday hours during the week. Between 11-3 I am walking dogs in the south loop. I occasionally will do a walk on the weekends which will take about an hour including travel time.

About this sitter: The first college I was accepted into was University of Maine at Orono for Wildlife Ecology. Rather than pursue this I went after 3 art and art education degrees. After which I began my dog walking service for the south loop. One-eyed- Jack, my previous dog was a therapy dog at the Rehabilitation Institute of Chicago. I occasionally still make art, garden and distance race on sailboats. We do about 9 races a year this is typically my only conflict for boarding appointments.
