I’m a former veterinary student who has recently relocated back to New York City after several years away from home. I’m passionate about all types of animals, and have both the professional savvy and proper (fun!) attitude to make friends with your furry family member while you’re away. After being a dog owner for 14 years, mother to Luna and Anja and surrogate mom to Ottley, Auggie Rose, Freeway, Jackson, and many others; I can happily say that I’m responsible, loving, respectful, and pet-positive, with a naturally safety-minded streak. I’ve been around dogs of all sizes/breeds and I’m capable of walking, exercising, and protecting pups of all kinds. My dogs are always on a leash before I leave to walk them, and I’m well-aware of every pet-friendly park and establishment in my area. I really believe that a house without at least one dog isn’t really a home!

After so many years of being around animals, both in medical and recreational settings, I’m definitely “pet intuitive” and deeply aware of their needs. Just relax on your trip, knowing that your beloved canine kid is being left with a trustworthy, animal-loving New Yorker. Your pup is in great hands, and I’ll keep you informed of all of their day-to-day goings-on via email or phone calls if you’d like. The most important thing is that your dog has as calming and enjoyable of a time away as you do!

I grew up around dogs, my childhood dog, Penny, will always hold a special place in my heart. I acquired my first dog outside of my parents’ house when I was 23. Her name is Luna, she is now 14, and still doing well.

I would like to know a little about your pup’s personality, along with whether or not they’re food or object possessive, if they’re prone to chewing, how they are around other dogs, and if they’re house-trained. Any history of aggression or illness is important to know about, of course.

Between my partner Richard and I; your dog will get 3-6 walks, including park time, each day. Your dog will hardly ever be left alone, because we spend a lot of time at home hanging out with our own animals.
If I watch your dog for 4 or more days, I will give it a complementary bath with Earth Bath Mango dog shampoo.

Your dog may sleep wherever he or she feels comfortable within my apartment! Everything has been puppy-proofed so they can make themselves at home!

Your dog will walk in the scenic area of Prospect Park and the surrounding streets. If your dog feels more comfortable on concrete than in a dog run, I’ll keep them confined to streetwalking. Whatever is you, and your dog’s, preference is where they’ll go!
