Information David A. would like to know about your pet
I would like to know basic temperament, favorite treat/toy, desired activity level, basic feeding instructions or medical needs, where they like to be walked/taken to a park, and any other information that would be helpful to keeping the dog happy and entertained during the time of separation from their owner. I do not have any breed preference.
A typical day
Here's where we'll take our walks The neighborhood we live in has a long park that runs down the street behind our building with plenty of grass space available. Your dog's sleeping arrangement Honestly depends on where your dog wants to sleep. We keep our bed room open incase they would like to join us for night time. Time I'll spend with your dog My wife and I work together and typically someone is at home about 90% of the time! With my nursing schedule I'm able to have more time off throughout the week. Time I'll spend with your dog How ever much time you feel is necessary. I have a fairly open schedule and an willing to do what ever it takes to make the owner happy. When I take on a dog I usually make time for 4-5 walks a day so that your dog can get out and enjoy the benefits of having full time pet care while the owner is away. Extra house-sitting services I can do anything you ask as long as you provide me with precise instructions so that I can assure that I'm fulfilling the task in the correct manner.

Your pup at my place!
Pet care experience
I recently moved into a condo that allows pets so I am now available to house your pup at my place in Northeast Rogers Park by the water and beach front park! We can discuss any further details through email or by phone. About this sitter: Hi! My name is David and I recently graduated from Knox College in Galesburg, Illinois. I'm from Corpus Christi, Texas and I'm here in the Lakeview area. I am a registered nurse and my wife works downtown. I have done several summer internships with veterinarian offices in my home town and have a greater understanding of animal care and can aptly tend to any medical needs they may have. I have had a long history with dogs and have been interested in animal care from a very young age. I would love to help you and share my southern hospitality with you and your pup! I fully understand and respect both you and your personal space and belongings as I know I would hope to have my home and belongings treated with the same dignity and respect while away. My father is the county attorney in San Patricio County Texas and as a result I have grown up with a respect for the law and theft is no exception. I can meet any requirements or wishes you may have and I can run any errands or do any home care you need done while you are away. I started with Rover.com around the end of July of last year (2012) and since then have had the pleasure of working with many different pet owners and have had many requests for repeated help throughout this time as well as passing me along to their friends for help. I never thought I would end up meeting so many people in Chicago after moving here, but Rover has been a blessing in disguise. I've gotten to see different parts of the city, meet different people and their pets, along with being presented unique opportunities through these thoughtful people. Thank you for your time and consideration. -David Aken Why I love dog sitting I've always had an interest for animals and as a child dreamed of being a veterinarian. I started taking summer internships once I had entered high school at the local veterinarian clinic in my home town and received a lot of hands on knowledge and experience there. The first dog I ever took in was abandoned in the cul-de-sac where I lived in Texas. His name was Rex and he was the best dog any kid my age could have asked for. He was a yellow lab that stole my heart with his personality and loyalty. He has since passed, but I have always been comforted to know that I gave him the best life possible. It was through him that my passion for animals only increased. I began volunteering at the local humane society shortly upon my arrival to Knox College spending a few hours a week dog walking when I could. Now that I'm in the big city I can say I miss the companionship so I figured reaching out to this service would be a good outlet. Meet my pets I have 2 prairie dogs! They are very similar to hamsters and are cage only animals. I've had them for a while, just over 4 years. Most dogs that come and stay with me find them really interesting for about the first 6-8 hours then after that could care less that they even exist. If your dog finds them particularly interesting I can always move them to my bed room to diffuse the situation, but I honestly haven't had to do this yet (maybe just my luck?). My experience administering medication As a registered nurse, medication administration is part of my job and can safely and confidently give any medications needed in a timely fashion. Also now that I've been with Rover for a while and cared for many dogs I have gained more hands on experience with giving meds to both dogs and cats in various forms with different techniques (i.e. peanut butter, crushing, cutting, and injections).
Reviews

Fantastic per usual!

It was a very nice experience to work with David! My dogs seemed to be very happy with him. David is also very responsive, caring and flexible. I would definitely reboot if needed and strongly recommend this sitter.
This was my first time using Rover and David was SUPER accommodating! He was professional and really flexible with the scheduling. I was very nervous about leaving my dog with someone other than family because she can be high-energy and quite needy, but he assured me that he could handle it and sure enough things went smoothly. I would gladly leave Squishy in his care in the future!
I left my dog Gizmo for an overnight stay with David. My dog was pretty happy when I picked her up, it seemed that she had a nice stay with David. I will definitely call David again for another overnight stay.
