About Daniel L.:

I have been dog sitting for a few years now and I find it to be extremely rewarding. I am a 25 year old college student and I get along with cats, but I truly love dogs. So far I have been getting sitting opportunities through word of mouth and I am hoping that through this site I might be able to care for more lovely dogs.

I have watched and taken care of a wide range of different types of dogs including Cocker Spaniel, Labrador Retriever, Beagle, Poodle, German Shepard, etc... I have never had trouble handling any dog so far and dogs just seem to like me, which awesome because I like them

How long have you been a dog lover? Tell us about your history with dogs.

As far back as I can remember I have lived with dogs and I assume that my love for them has come from that. My first dog was a Dalmatian mixed with a black Lab. My second dog was a purebred black Lab. The dogs I live with now and take care of are a Beagle, Poodle, and a mixed type dog. Each one has their own personality , but I love them all.

What would you like to know about a dog before sitting him or her? Do you have any breed preferences?

I have never turned down watching a dog, but I appreciate general information upfront just so I can have an understanding of what the dog or dogs will be like. My favorite breeds are any kind Lab and German Shepperd's.

Do you have reliable transportation in the event of an emergency?

Yes I have a reliable car and it's a sedan so it has plenty of room for dogs.

Are you comfortable administering medication?

I am comfortable with it as long as I am given adequate instructions.

Are you willing to do additional tasks at my home while I'm away
(e.g., water plants, bring in the mail)?

Yes I am willing to do other tasks which can include, but not limited to feeding other pets.

How much time do you plan on spending with my dog each day?

I spend at least a majority of the day with your dog if not more.

We've had an excellent experience with Daniel as our pet sitter (and house-sitter). Recently, he stayed 7 days/nights with our two 3 year-old labs and our indoor-only cat. With great ease, he maintained their high-maintenance routine (multiple eating schedules, walks, personal 'business' needs, and more) and gave them tons of attention and affection. He also took care to manage the household routine, i.e., collect packages, mail, watched for gardeners, pool guy, etc. Dan is professional, polite, trustworthy, and pays careful attention to the details. Our 1-yr old cocker/poodle mix Barnabas LOVES having Daniel visit! Daniel is diligent about walking Barnabas and cleaning up after him. Daniel always plays with Barnabas for as long as he wants - he really gets spoiled!
